Soho Friends terms and conditions
 
General
 
Soho Friends is a travel & lifestyle programme by Soho House. It offers you access to Soho House bedrooms at preferred rates, including late checkouts and room upgrades, plus year-round savings on interiors by Soho Home, and more.
 
1. Soho Friends
Each Soho Friend account is in contract with the Soho House company that looks after his or her local region. Soho House reserves the right at its absolute discretion to change the Soho House company with whom a Soho Friend account is in contract from time to time. Soho House will inform each Soho Friend account of the name of the Soho House company their account is in contract with by email when we confirm your registration and/ or renewal, and also when we change your contracting Soho House company at any time. In these rules, we will refer to that company as ‘Soho House’. Soho House reserves the right to charge Soho Friends accounts an annual subscription fee and for admission to our spaces from time to time. The right to change or waive any such fees or subscriptions from time to time shall be at Soho House’s sole discretion.
 
2. Your Soho Friends registration
By completing and registering for a Soho Friends account via sohohouse.com, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Soho House has discretion as to who has joined Soho Friends.
 
3. Soho Friends database
For safety and security, it is important for us to have your current details and a photograph in our database. By joining Soho Friends, you agree that we can hold your personal details and a photograph of you for us to use in association to your account. If your contact or payment details change, please let us know via your account page on the Soho House app or by emailing membership@sohohouse.com.
 
4. Your Soho Friends fee payment
Upon registration or renewal of your account, your fees become payable immediately. By providing us with your payment details, you consent to being charged with subscription fees in the form requested by Soho House upon being registered or renewed. Soho House can amend your fees at any time, and we will tell you in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date or frequency of the payment of your fees. Failure to pay the annual subscription (or any instalment thereof) within one month of the due date will result in you not being admitted to our spaces and your account being terminated.
 
5. Your Soho Friends account renewal
Your Soho Friends account is auto-renewable on an annual basis. Soho House will contact you two weeks prior to your renewal date to remind you of your upcoming renewal and inform you of any changes to your annual fee for the upcoming year. All Soho Friends accounts will automatically renew unless either (i) you chose to resign or (ii) your Soho Friends account is terminated by Soho House (at its sole discretion).
 
6. Cancellation of your Soho Friends account
You can cancel your Soho Friends account at any time. Please note, you will only be eligible for a full refund of your subscription fee if you request a refund within 14 days of your registration or renewal date. You will not be eligible for a refund if you’ve joined Soho Friends through a bedroom booking or Soho Home purchase, unless you have cancelled your booking or order. If you choose to resign your Soho Friends account or your subscription is cancelled part way through the year, you will still need to pay your full Soho Friends subscription fee for the remainder of the year. Refunds will be at the discretion of Soho House.
 
7. Soho Friends cards
Your digital card is in the profile section of the Soho House app. Screengrabbing and sharing of Soho Friends account details is not allowed and will result in your account being terminated.
 
8. Your personal information
We will use the personal information you provide to us in connection with your Soho Friends account in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
 
Your Benefits
 
9. Soho House bedrooms
Your Soho Friends account gives you access to reduced rates on bedroom stays at Soho Houses around the world (subject to availability). Plus, 12pm late checkout and free room upgrades (to the next room category) on stays 3 nights or longer, subject to availability (excluding any bookings at Soho Farmhouse, Soho Roc House and Little Beach House Barcelona). Any upgrades are at Soho House’s sole discretion and subject to availability upon arrival. You can invite a guest(s) to stay with you in the room, provided that at all times the number of guests does not exceed the occupancy capacity for that room. While staying in our bedrooms, you may also invite three guests with you into the House at which you are staying (excluding any bookings at Soho Farmhouse). This access, and the number of guests allowed, is at Soho House’s sole discretion and there are exceptions which apply. It’s advisable to contact the House directly for individual guest policies before visiting. For more information on bringing guests to Soho House, see the ‘GUESTS’ section (section 16) below. To book, please visit the bedrooms section of the Soho House app and on sohohouse.com for latest availability. Availability is subject to vary throughout the year. Please note, all room bookings are subject to the room booking terms and conditions. To stay in our bedrooms, you’ll need to be able to be present a valid photographic proof of identity (drivers’ license, passport or national ID card) at check-in, plus the debit or credit card used to make your booking. If you’re unable to produce either of these, your booking may be cancelled at short notice with no refund. In order to benefit from your Soho Friends rate, you must have an active Soho Friends account on the date you made your booking and during your bedroom stay. 10. Soho Home
Your Soho Friends account gives you access to reduced rates on full-priced purchases and sale items at Soho Home (whether online or in-store at one of our retail shops). If you’re based in mainland UK or North America, you can also enjoy free delivery on small items and reduced delivery costs for larger items all year round. To shop, please visit www.sohohome.com. 11. Events and experiences
You can book events, retreats and experiences via the Soho House app. You can receive regular updates on latest events, retreats and experiences at Soho House via the Soho Friends newsletter. Please make sure you’re subscribed to receive marketing and communications to stay updated. Your Soho Friend account also gives you access to reduced rates for you and up to 3 guests on screenings at Electric Cinema White City and Electric Cinema Portobello. To book an Electric Cinema screening, please visit electriccinema.co.uk/ and log into your Soho Friends account to book. All cinema bookings will be subject to our cinema booking terms and conditions and policies, which can be found at sohohouse.com/en-us/terms-and-policies/terms-and-conditions and the Electric Cinema Privacy Policy. Please note, you can only access our House cinemas and screening rooms when staying in a bedroom. If you reside in the United States, you can redeem up to 6 day passes a year at any Soho Works location around the world. You can redeem day passes by filling out a request form here or by emailing membership.swny@sohoworks.com. 12. Wellness
Your Soho Friends account gives you daily access to, and reduced rates on treatments at, the following Cowshed spas: Shoreditch House, Primrose Hill, Soho House Amsterdam, Soho House Berlin, Soho House Barcelona, and Soho House Chicago. It gives you reduced rates on treatments at the following Cowshed spas if you’re booked to stay or are visiting on behalf of a Soho House member: Soho Farmhouse, Babington House, Soho House Rome, Soho House New York and Soho Beach House. Please note, you can access the spa at Soho House Istanbul but do not receive reduced rates on treatments. Your Soho Friends rate is applicable to all treatments paid in a single transaction. You can invite one guest to have a Cowshed spa treatment with you (subject to availability). If you want to use your special rate for guest treatments, you must be having a treatment at the same time as your guest and will have to be present at the time of your guest’s treatment and payment. To book, please visit the Soho House app or www.cowshed.com/spa/book. All spa bookings will be subject to the spa booking terms and conditions made available to you upon confirmation of your booking. Your Soho Friends account also gives you access to preferred rates on products at Cowshed and Soho Skin. To shop Soho Skin, please visit https://www.sohoskin.com/. 13. Food & Drink
Your Soho Friends account gives you access to preferred rates on all food and beverage at Soho House public restaurants after 4pm on a Sunday to closing on a Wednesday. You can find out more about our restaurants here. Please note, Soho Friends do not receive preferred rates at Cecconi’s Istanbul, The Allis Istanbul, Scorpios Mykonos, Scorpios Bodrum, La Caseta Barcelona and La Vallauris Palm Springs. You can bring up to 3 guests to Soho House public restaurants. Please note, you will only be able to redeem your benefits on the total bill for tables up to 4 persons. To receive a preferred rate on your total bill, please present your Soho Friends account details to your server. Exclusions may apply.
 
Rules and policies
 
You can face suspension or termination of your Soho Friends account if you or your guests violate any of the following rules and policies.
 
14. Guests
If you would like to bring a guest with you to one of our spaces or with you into a Soho House as part of your bedroom stay, you will need to invite them through the reception teams. Your guest must not be separated from you within any of our spaces and they will not be allowed to remain there after you leave. Please be aware that during certain times we may have to restrict access to specific areas within our spaces (for example, due to social distancing or during private hire). You will be responsible for ensuring all guests follow all our Soho House and Soho Friends rules and policies (as applicable).
 
15. Children
All our spaces are designed for adults, but aim to be child-friendly. Please be considerate of others when you bring any children with you and ensure they are not left unattended at any time. It’s a good idea to ask each space about its rules regarding children, since they vary. Please remember that your children are your responsibility at all times when present in our spaces and they count as part of your Soho Friends guest allowance.
 
16. Privacy for others
You and your guests must not approach, disturb or solicit others who they do not know while in our Houses and private spaces.
 
17. Mobile phones
To protect the relaxed atmosphere within all our Houses, you may not take or make phone calls (except in designated areas within our spaces) and phones should be on silent mode. Texting is permitted. Please ensure that your guests adhere to our phone policy while visiting our Houses.
 
18. Cameras / recording devices
No cameras, video or other recording devices, whether live-streaming or otherwise, and whether on a mobile phone or other medium, may be used while in our Houses. You are responsible for ensuring that their guests also abide by this rule. Soho House reserves the right to take possession of and confiscate any mobile phone, camera, video or other recording device and any photos, videos or other recorded images used or taken while in our Houses. 
 
19. Audio / video sound
Movies, videos, songs, internet calls, presentations and all other audio must only be played through headphones and should not be audible to any other Soho House members or guests present.
 
20. Press / social media
All our Houses and spaces operate a strict no-press policy. You will be held accountable if they or their guests disclose or identify any Soho House members or guests who are in our spaces, whether in any press or social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and on personal blogs. Similarly, you and your guests must refrain from identifying or describing any private hire or event occurring in our spaces.
 
21. Illegal drugs / substances / items
You or your guest shall not purchase, use, ingest, possess, sell or otherwise distribute illegal drugs or other substances, or attempt to do any of the same from any member or guest, or shall ask any Soho House staff for illegal drugs or other substances while in our spaces or nearby. If any of the actions above prove true, the relevant individual and/ or guest will be removed and the account in question will be terminated. Depending on the circumstances, we may call the police or inform the relevant authorities.
 
22. Bills
All bills must be settled in full before leaving the space. You are responsible for their guests’ bills if they are not paid and may face suspension if such unpaid bills are not settled promptly.
 
23. Food and beverages
Please refrain from bringing any outside food or beverages to any of our spaces, unless medically necessary.
 
24. Animals
No animals will be allowed in our spaces except for assistance dogs.
 
25. Entering / leaving our spaces
You and your guests are asked to respect our nearby residents by being quiet when entering or leaving our spaces, or while in the surrounding area.
 
26. Smoking policy
You and your guests are obligated to abide by the smoking policy that’s in effect in our spaces, and to all applicable no-smoking governmental laws, rules and regulations. No smoking (including e-cigarettes and vapes) is allowed inside any of our spaces at any time. Soho House reserves the right to prohibit or limit smoking in any area of our premises at any time at its sole discretion. Soho House reserves the right to designate certain outside areas of our premises as smoking areas and to change the location of such areas at any time. However, you and your guests are requested to respect the wishes of other Soho House members and their guests in relation to smoking and to refrain from smoking when requested to do so.
 
27. Use of equipment and facilities
Your Soho Friends account will only be able to grant you access to the House gyms as part of a bedroom stay (and only where the House has an onsite gym). Use of any of the gym or fitness equipment, areas or facilities available at a House is entirely at the risk of you or your guests. Introduction sessions explaining how to safely and properly use the gym or fitness equipment are available. You must not use any equipment or undertake any activity at a House unless you are satisfied that you are competent to do so in a safe and proper manner. You will also be required to complete a health commitment statement confirming that you are in good health and in a fit state to use our gyms. When using any equipment and facilities available at a House or space, you must take care to safeguard your own health and safety and that of other people. You will be solely responsible for any loss or injury that you cause to yourself, other persons or to the equipment or facilities to the extent that it is caused through your unsafe or improper use of the equipment or facilities (including your use of them while under the influence of alcohol or medication), or your failure to advise staff of a medical condition relevant to your use of the equipment or facilities.
 
28. Post
Your Soho Friends account does not grant access to send personal post or packages to any Houses or spaces.
 
Other 
 
29. Private hire and house maintenance
We may at times close all or part of our spaces to those with Soho Friends accounts and their guests for private events or for necessary maintenance, repair or redecoration work. Where we close part of the space for private events, please honour and respect the privacy of all private events occurring in the space and refrain from communicating any information about the event to third parties. Where all or part of a space is closed for maintenance, repair or redecoration work, or where we need to withdraw facilities or services because we consider that they may pose a risk to the health or safety of those with Soho Friends accounts, guests or staff, or that they are detrimental to the business, we will ensure that any such area, facility or service is reinstated as soon as practicable.
 
30. Capturing events in our spaces
We love to hear what you and guests get up to at Soho House. While you have a Soho Friends account or are a guest at our Houses or spaces, we may ask you to give your views of, and experiences at, Soho House. And we may also film, video or photograph our events and activities at our Houses and/ or spaces for use in our membership programmes, advertising, promotions, public relations, and other commercial/ business purposes. If you take part in these interviews or events, you agree that we may use your name, image and other limited information and give us your consent to publish any materials produced by, or for us, for any purpose without your further consent, and you waive your right to receive any payment from us in connection with such publication.
 
31. Accidents and injuries
We want you and your guests to relax and enjoy the activities and facilities available at our spaces safely. Please be aware that some of our Houses are set in open countryside with lakes and other natural features that can be hazardous. You and your guests agree to observe the Soho Friends rules and any signs published or displayed at our spaces or Houses. You and your guests also agree to only swim in designated areas and take precautions when travelling around the grounds or using our facilities. If you or your guest has an accident or suffers any injury at, or nearby, the House or in our spaces, please report this as soon as possible to a member of staff, and in any event within 24 hours of the incident. As well as wanting to check on a member or guest’s wellbeing, this information is needed in order to help us comply with our health and safety obligations and for insurance purposes.
 
32. Disciplinary procedure
Conduct by you or your guest that is prejudicial to the reputation and character of Soho House may result in suspension or expulsion of you or your guest. Such conduct may include inappropriate, discriminatory, violent or abusive behaviour, and anything that goes against our pledge for diversity and inclusion, or the communication of information concerning the House affairs or the affairs of the space, members or their guests in the House or space to the media. If you have been expelled, you may not return to any House or space as a guest. A refund of your subscription will be at the discretion of Soho House. If you wilfully remove, damage or destroy any property belonging to the House or space, or to members or guests on the premises of the House or the space, will be liable to expulsion and/ or suspension or termination of their account.
 
Your Soho Friends account binds you to abide by the rules, bylaws and regulations of Soho House at all times upon acceptance. If Soho House considers that you or your guest’s conduct either inside or outside of the House premises or spaces, at its absolute discretion, contrary to the interests of Soho House, Soho House may, with immediate effect, expel you or your guest from the House premises and/or suspend or terminate your Soho Friends account without having to give any reason to you or your guest.
 
33. CCTV
You and your guests should be aware that for safety reasons we use CCTV across all of our spaces.
 
34. Confidentiality
Soho House management and all staff members adhere to the strictest confidentiality standards, and pledge to maintain all records and personal information concerning you and your guests in the strictest confidence.
 
35. Soho House pledge
Soho House is a space for its diverse community and teams to connect, grow, have fun and make an impact. Each House and space is a safe, friendly home away from home for everyone. We operate a zero-tolerance approach to any social bias and discrimination, and expect the same from those with Soho Friends accounts.
 
36. Constitution
Our Houses and spaces are constituted to encourage non-political, social and recreational activities.
 
37. Rights and privileges of Soho Friends
You shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of our spaces (where you are invited in with a Soho House member or as part of a bedroom stay) granted to a person in his or her capacity as an individual with a Soho Friends account, and shall be bound by these rules, but shall have no proprietary rights in any of the premises or in respect of property of House or space (where applicable).
 
38. Soho House trademark rights
You and your guests shall not use the names, logos, colours, trademarks, service marks, photographs, trade dress, or other identifying features of Soho House and its affiliates (the ‘Soho House Marks’) without obtaining the specific prior written approval of Soho House as to the specific use. You hereby expressly recognise that the Soho House Marks are the valid, unique and exclusive property of Soho House, its parent, affiliates and/ or subsidiaries. You and your guests may not produce, use or create, or authorise others to produce, use or create the Soho House Marks for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, in any communications, marketing, advertising or other promotional materials (including, but not limited to, brochures, flyers, invitations, e-mail messages, etc) that utilise the Soho House Marks without Soho House’s prior written consent.
 
39. Liability of Soho House
All items brought into a House or space (including our spas, cinemas, Soho Home retail shops and Soho House group restaurants) are brought and left entirely at the risk of you or your guest. Soho House, its representatives and/or agents, shall not be liable to you or your guest for any loss, damage or injury suffered by them or their property howsoever caused, save in respect of death or personal injury to you or your guest to the extent caused by the negligence of Soho House, its representatives and/or agents. This is not intended to affect any mandatory rights you or your guest may have under local law that we cannot legally restrict or exclude.
 
40. Interpretation of the rules
In the event of any dispute arising as to the meaning or interpretation of these rules, the matter shall be referred to Soho House, whose decision with respect to your Soho Friends account shall be final and without appeal. These rules shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and each individual with a Soho Friends account agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
 
41. Amendments to the Soho Friends terms
Soho House may change these Soho Friends rules from time to time by displaying notification of the change on sohohouse.com and the Soho House app. Please be aware that the latest version of the Soho Friends terms is displayed on sohohouse.com and the Soho House app.
