Cocktail hour with a vitamin fix: Romaine With A View how-to

ONO: How to make a Romaine with a view cocktail | Soho House

Substitute sugar syrup for mineral-rich Romaine lettuce juice in this fresh (and practically virtuous) take on the classic punch, Rome With a View

Created by BANKS® Rums’ co-founder, Jim Meehan, Romaine With A View holds the restorative power of a green juice while delivering an alcoholic punch comparable to a Long Island Iced Tea. Mixing the grassy notes of BANKS® 5 Island Rum with Romaine lettuce’s bittersweet edge, the cocktail’s flavour profile is rounded out by a bracing blend of botanicals with the addition of St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur and Noilly Prat Extra Dry Vermouth.

Romaine With A View

30ml Banks 5 Island Rum
30ml Noilly Prat Extra Dry Vermouth/ Noilly Prat Original Dry Vermouth
30ml Romaine juice
20ml lime juice
15ml St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
30ml soda water

1. Measure out the rum, vermouth, Romaine juice, lime juice, and elderflower liqueur into a cocktail shaker. Then, add ice and shake well.
2. Add the soda water into the shaker and fine strain the mixture into a chilled Collins glass filled with ice.
3. Garnish with a Romaine lettuce heart.
