Shoreditch House

Featuring both British icons and emerging artists, the Shoreditch House art collection is a true reflection of east London’s creative spirit
On entering Shoreditch House, members and guests have long been greeted by a commissioned work reading ‘no suits’ by Damien Hirst. In January 2025, new works were added to the reception as part of an art refresh, including a large piece by Yinka Shonibare, whose studio is close by. The refresh extended to the entire fifth floor and features a solo presentation in the Library of more than 20 works by the young artist Billy Bagilhole.
Opposite the club bar is a focused selection honouring some of the icons of the East End art scene, including Gilbert & George, Sue Webster, Yinka Shonibare, Langlands & Bell, Ryan Gander, Rachel Whiteread, and Tracey Emin. Other key acquisitions include a suite of works on paper from another longtime East End artist, Chila Kumari Singh Burman, a large tapestry from her studio neighbour Charlotte Edey, and a watercolour by Gavin Turk.
Many of the existing works that date from Shoreditch’s original black and white art collection, curated by Francesca Gavin, have found new locations in the restaurant and Sitting Room, so that members can look out for their old favourites, including a pair of paintings by Oscar Murillo and a glass work by the duo Levack and Lewandowski.
Previously, the Back Deck was curated in 2023 with a multi-generational installation of artists whose work centres on identity, representation and new modes of thinking about beauty, including Matthias Garcia, Joy Labinjo, Sola Olulode, Hester Finch, and Leon Pozniakow.
