Broadcaster Edith Bowman sits down with actor and producer Gemma Arterton via Zoom to chat about Arterton’s new project, Summerland. They discuss her shift from being solely in front of the camera to tackling her first producing role, how she built a completely gender-balanced crew for the project, and her experience working closely with her friend, writer and director Jessica Swale. Summerland charts the story of a fiercely independent folklore investigator whose life is changed by the arrival of a spirited evacuee, Lucas, who is placed in her care. Set for release on 31 July, Summerland is one of the first cinematic releases since lockdown.
