Waste by Justine Raczkiewicz

A man and a woman holding hands over a dinner table.

Justine Raczkiewicz’s Waste explores love, food, the dangers of consumption and unsatiated curiosity. Roger lives a grim and detached life, picking up medical waste for a living, but looks forward to his evening meals with his quirky roommate and foodie, Olive. But as the meals become increasingly strange, Roger must ask himself how far he will go for love? Adapted from a short story by Amelia Gray, Waste won a Best Female Director award at the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival and the Best Short Film award at IFS. It was also nominated for Best Short Film of 2018 by New Filmmakers LA and Best Art Direction at Paris Lift-Off in 2017.
