Kate Bryan, Head of Collections for Soho House, talks to US artist and social justice activist Dread Scott. They consider how he upholds his mission to ‘make revolutionary art to propel history forward’ with his most recent project, ‘Slave Rebellion Reenactment’. This involved more than 500 participants recreate an 1811 slave uprising. Scott also explains how direct engagement with the past is vital to understanding and making change in the present. This talk forms part of an ongoing series with art patron BMWi, which launched in 2014 and continues to bring together creative minds across art, music, design and lifestyle.
