Writer, critic and DUMBO House member Antwaun Sargent invites fellow New York member and photographer Tyler Mitchell (renowned for his Vogue cover of Beyoncé) to join him for a conversation about their books, The New Black Vanguard and I Can Make You Feel Good. They celebrate Black joy and discuss the role of Tumblr in decontextualizing images. Mitchell also shares how he canned a project five years in the making that focuses on the funeral flower arrangements for Black victims of police violence – ‘the world decided to have the conversation that I hoped my art was going to spark.’
