5 questions with Greentea Peng

We invited the artist into our content booth at 180 House to tell us a bit more about how she’s spreading the love with her latest music.

Greentea Peng’s unique sound, which she jokingly describes as ‘confusing’, has made her one of the most promising and idiosyncratic artists in British neosoul’s current wave.

After dropping her first EP, Sensi, in 2018, the London-born singer quickly became one of music’s ones to watch after a performance for German music platform Colors went viral (amassing more than 10 million views). A year later, she was nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2021 and came fourth.

This month, she released her debut album Man Made – a heady mix of jazz, reggae, hip-hop and soul that’s honeyed with languid lyrics and experimental instrumentals. It might just be the perfect soundtrack for the long, hazy summer days ahead.
