Soho House has private members’ clubs (our ‘Houses’), along with public restaurants, spas, cinemas and hotels (our ‘Spaces’) throughout the world. Membership to Soho House is for people with a ‘creative soul’, and requires its members and their guests to accept the standards of conduct and rules in our Spaces.

1. Soho Friends

Each Soho Friends member contracts with the Soho House company that looks after his or her local region (being the region closest to their designated address). Soho House reserves the right at its absolute discretion to change the Soho House company with whom a Soho Friends member contracts from time to time.

Soho House will inform each Soho Friends member of the name of the Soho House company with whom he or she contracts by email when we confirm your membership approval and/ or renewal, and also when we change your contracting Soho House company at any time. In these rules, we will refer to that company as ‘Soho House’.

Soho House reserves the right to charge members an annual subscription fee and for admission to our Spaces from time to time. The right to change or waive any such fees or subscriptions from time to time shall be at Soho House’s sole discretion.

2. Your Soho Friends membership application

By completing and submitting your application for a Soho Friends membership via sohohouse.com, you agree to these terms.

Soho House reviews Soho Friends applications weekly and admits new members when space is available. Soho House has discretion as to who our Soho Friends are.

You are free to withdraw your application to Soho Friends at any time. Should you wish to do so, please contact our team at membershipadmin@sohohouse.com. If your membership application is accepted, we will confirm by sending you a ‘Welcome to Soho Friends’ email. Your annual membership will start on the date we receive payment from you.

3. Proposing new soho friends members

Both Soho House members and existing Soho Friends members are welcome to propose new applicants to Soho Friends. The application form is available at sohohouse.com/membership/friends.

4. Soho Friends membership renewal

Membership of Soho Friends is for a minimum period of one year and renewable thereafter on an annual basis.

Soho Friends membership renewals are not automatic and are reviewed by Soho House on an annual basis. The decision of Soho House is final and without appeal.

5. Soho Friends membership database

For safety and security, it is important for us to have your current details and a photograph in our membership database. By becoming a member of Soho Friends, you agree that we can hold your personal details and a photograph of you for us to use in connection with your membership. If your contact or payment details change, please let us know via your account page on the Soho Friends app, or by emailing membershipadmin@sohohouse.com.

6. Soho Friends membership payment

Upon approval or renewal of your membership, your membership fees become payable immediately. By providing us with your payment details, you consent to being charged with membership fees in the form requested by Soho House upon being approved or renewed. Soho House can amend your membership fees at any time, and we will tell you in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date or frequency of the payment of your membership fees.

Failure to pay the annual subscription (or any instalment thereof) within one month of the due date will result in the member not being admitted to our Spaces and the membership being terminated.

7. Resignation of your Soho Friends membership and renewals

If you have selected monthly or annual payment and choose to resign your Soho Friends membership (or your membership is cancelled part way through the year), you will still need to pay your full Soho Friends membership fee for the remainder of the year. Refunds will be at the discretion of Soho House.

All Soho Friends memberships will automatically renew unless either (i) you chose to resign or (ii) your Soho Friends membership is terminated by Soho House (at its sole discretion).

Soho House will contact you two weeks prior to your autorenewal to inform you of the price of your Soho Friends membership for the upcoming year.

8. Soho Friends membership cards

Your digital membership card is in the profile section of the Soho Friends app. Members are able to download it as a card in their Apple Wallet on an iPhone and in the account section on an Android phone. Screengrabbing and sharing of membership cards is not allowed, and will result in membership being terminated.

9. Your personal information

We will use the personal information you provide to us in connection with your Soho Friends membership in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Bedrooms

As a Soho Friends member, you can book to stay at our bedrooms around the world (subject to availability and no more than one booking can be made per day). As a Soho Friends member, you can invite a guest(s) to stay with you in the room, provided that at all times the number of guests does not exceed the occupancy capacity for that room. While staying in our bedrooms, you may also invite one guest with you into the House at which you are staying. For more information on bringing guests to Soho House and Soho Friends members’ spaces, see the ‘GUESTS’ section (section 16) below.

To book a room, please visit the bedrooms section of the Soho Friends app and on sohohouse.com. Please note that all room bookings are subject to the room booking terms and conditions. In order to benefit from your Soho Friends member rate, you must be a current Soho Friends member on the date you made your booking, as well as the dates of your bedroom stay(s).

11. Cowshed spa treatments

As a Soho Friends member, you can book treatments at the following standalone Cowshed spas globally and you will receive the Soho Friends members’ rate on treatments and products.
UK: Shoreditch, Carnaby Street, Primrose Hill. EU: Berlin, Istanbul, Barcelona, Amsterdam.

As a Soho Friends member, you can also invite one guest to have a Cowshed spa treatment with you, subject to availability. Your Soho Friends members’ rate is applicable to all treatments paid in a single transaction. You can find your Soho Friends members’ rate when logged in on cowshed.com. However, if you want to use this special rate for guest treatments, the Soho Friends member will have to be present at the time of the guest’s treatment and payment. To book, please visit the Cowshed section of the Soho Friends app or cowshed.com/spa/book. All spa bookings will be subject to the spa booking terms and conditions made available to you upon confirmation of your booking.

Please note that Cowshed Selfridges, Cowshed St Moritz and Cowshed at The Ned are not included in the Soho Friends membership. You will only be able to use your Soho Friends members’ rate at our House spas (Soho Farmhouse, Babington House, Soho House New York, Soho House Chicago, Soho Beach House Miami) when you are either (i) staying in a bedroom or (ii) the guest of a House member.

12. Cinemas

Soho Friends members can book to see screenings at our standalone Electric Cinemas: Electric Cinema White City, Electric Cinema Shoreditch and Electric Cinema Portobello, and enjoy 15% off the ticket price. As a Soho Friends member, you can bring one guest with you (and your guest will also get 15% off the ticket price when paid in a single transaction). All bookings will be subject to our cinema booking terms and conditions and policies, which can be found at sohohouse.com/en-us/terms-and-policies/terms-and-conditions and the Electric Cinema Privacy Policy. To book an Electric Cinema screening, please visit electriccinema.co.uk/ and use your Soho House login to book. Soho Friends can only access our House cinemas and screening rooms (for example, the screening room at Soho Farmhouse) when staying in a bedroom.

14. SOHO HOME+

As a Soho Friends member, you will receive 15% off on all non-sale items and 20% off on sale items on any Soho Home purchases (whether online or in-store at one of our retail shops). Soho Friends members can also enjoy free shipping on non-heavy goods items and concierge services on purchases above £2,000. Please note that all Soho Home purchases will be subject to the Soho Home purchase terms and conditions at sohohome.com/terms.

15. Soho friends Studio spaces

As a Soho Friends member, you will be able to hang out in the following Studio spaces: Kettner’s, White City Studio, 180 Studio the Strand, the Allis Chicago, Tea Building Studio in Shoreditch, the Allis Istanbul, the Allis Mumbai, and Soho Beach House Canouan. Soho Friends members can bring up to three guests (including children) with them to these members’ spaces at any one time. For more information on bringing guests and children into Soho Friends members’ spaces, please see the ‘GUESTS’ and ‘CHILDREN’ sections below.

16. Guests

If you would like to bring a guest with you to one of the Soho Friends Spaces listed in section 15 above (or with you into a Soho House as part of your bedroom stay), you will need to invite them using the ‘House Guest’ feature in the Soho Friends app, or through the reception teams at our Spaces. Your guest will not be able to enter the members’ space until you arrive. Your guest must not be separated from you within any of our members’ spaces and they will not be allowed to remain there after you leave. Please be aware that during certain times we may have to restrict member/ guest access to specific areas within our members’ spaces (for example, due to social distancing or during private hire). You will be responsible for ensuring all guests follow all our Soho House and Soho Friends rules and policies (as applicable). As a Soho Friends member, you can face suspension or termination of your membership if your guests violate any rules or policies.

17. Children

All our Spaces are designed for adults, but aim to be child-friendly. Please be considerate of other members when you bring any children with you and ensure they are not left unattended at any time.

It’s a good idea to ask each Space about its rules regarding children, since they vary. Please remember that your children are your responsibility at all times when present in our members’ spaces and they count as part of your Soho Friends guest allowance.

18. Privacy for other Soho Friends members/ guests

Soho Friends members and their guests must not approach, disturb or solicit others in all members’ spaces who they do not know. Doing so may lead to suspension or termination of your Soho Friends membership.

19. Mobile phones

To protect the relaxed atmosphere within our Soho Friends Spaces, members may not take or make phone calls (except in designated areas within our Spaces) and phones should be on silent mode. Texting is allowed. Please ensure that your guests adhere to our phone policy while visiting our Spaces.

20. Cameras/ recording devices

No cameras, video or other recording devices, whether live-streaming or otherwise, and whether on a mobile phone or other medium, may be used while in our members’ spaces. Members are responsible for ensuring that their guests also abide by this rule. Soho House reserves
