House Favourites: dry martini

A cocktail with a slice of lemon peel in it.

Wind down with the classic cocktail after that long commute from your home office to the kitchen 

We’ve shown you how to make our signature picante and up next is a classic dry martini, ensuring you don’t have to miss out on cocktail hour while the Houses are closed. 
 
On @sohohouse, our Drinking Director, Tom Kerr, adapted the recipe for what he has at home, giving the choice of gin or vodka, twist or onion, and even substituting the vermouth. Below, you’ll find the recipe for the perfect end-of-day drink.

INGREDIENTS 
70ml/ 2.5oz vodka or gin
5ml/ 0.2oz vermouth, sherry, wine or aperitif (use 15ml/ 0.5oz for a wet martini)



GARNISH

Lemon twist, olive or pickled onion

GLASS

Coupe or rocks 



METHOD
Combine all the ingredients into a shaker with ice. Stir gradually to achieve the desired dilution. Strain into a glass and add your garnish.
