Meet Juls: The British-Ghanaian musician pushing Afrobeat into the future

Man on horse in a field

The multi-talented producer and DJ opens up to Ashton Gohil and Emmanuel Lawal about his forthcoming debut album

Words by Anish Patel

British-Ghanaian music producer and artist Juls has garnered a reputation for being one of the biggest champions of Afrobeats in the UK. Having collaborated with some of the most exciting names in music over the past decade, including Burna Boy, Wizkid and the iconic Lauryn Hill, the 35-year-old East-Londoner is wrapping up production for his first solo album, which will be released this summer.

He sits down with Ashton Gohil and Emmanuel Lawal, founders of The ACS show, to talk about growing up in a musical household, his distinctive sound and why his latest album might just be the soundtrack for summer.
