All the ways to celebrate Diwali around the Houses

How to celebrate Diwali around the Houses | Soho House

From candle making at Soho House 76 Dean Street in London to a big Diwali party at Soho House Mumbai, lose yourself in the festival of lights at our global events

Monday 30 October 2023   By Soho House

Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is one of India’s biggest holidays. The five-day celebration takes place around the darkest day of the Hindu lunar calendar and symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness. This year, it will take place from Thursday 9 to Monday 13 November, so you have plenty of time to make some plans.

Traditionally, the celebrations are colourful and bright, including large feasts, gift exchanges and moments of worship. We’ll be hosting many events around our global Houses, so you can get involved and commemorate the holiday in a way that suits you. If you want to go all out, we have a Diwali dance party at Soho House New York and an even bigger celebration at Soho House Mumbai. Alternatively, you can do something low key, such as henna candle making at Soho House 76 Dean Street or an Indian dinner at White City House.
