What’s Next With Shayaan Oshidar (aka Shai)
The singer-songwriter and Mumbai member shares 27 of her favourite things
‘My 27 selections were definitely influenced by the singer-songwriter side of me. My six-word memoir was “A musical voyage across the seas”. I left Bombay for university in Liverpool, and then began my songwriting journey in London. Ever since then, I shuffle from one place to the other. And everywhere I go, it feels like I’m half home. I feel blessed to have the best of both worlds: to feel at home in both countries.
‘I’ve been asking myself recently, “When will life get back to normal?”, “Will it go back to normal?”, “When am I going to start travelling again?”, and “When am I going to be able to drop my first single?” I’ve always tried to look at everything as a positive. Life could be better, but it also could be worse. I’m thankful that, even though dealing with COVID-19 has been hard, it’s also taught me so much. All my family are safe and well, and my music never stopped. Inspiration still strikes and the music still flows, allowing my identity to emerge even stronger than before.’
