Christina Santichatsak first joined Soho House in London, where she worked in fashion media at Harrods and later at NET-A-PORTER, before moving to Thailand three years ago. She has been grateful for the sense of continuity her membership has provided her throughout. 

Back then, she says, an average day would start at White City House with a morning gym session, swim and steam (‘I’d always grab one of the delicious protein shakes on my way out’), and usually end ‘relaxing and hanging out with friends’ at 180 House on the Strand – usually with a stop at Little House Mayfair along the way. 

But while she says she can’t go without her favourite Chicken Chopped Salad and ‘a side of zucchini fritters – with everything’, what Santichatsak’s Soho House membership ultimately gives her is ‘community, balance and the sense of always feeling at home, wherever I may be travelling to.’ 

Here, Santichatsak explains what her membership means to her.

‘I relocated to Thailand from London three years ago to renovate my family’s business – Thanya Beach Resort – in Southern Thailand. I wanted to bring my knowledge and interest for sustainability to help us be more eco-conscious. I’m super excited about Soho House opening in Bangkok, because I think the city can offer so much to the global community.’ 

‘As a member I always feel at home, wherever I might be travelling to. You’re surrounded by a like-minded community and get the comfort of feeling at home – you can literally spend all day and night in a House – wherever you are in the world. Just knowing you’re part of something like that is pretty great.’ 

‘I’d visited Houses with friends and colleagues before becoming a member, and always thought how rare it was to find a global community of creatives and entrepreneurs all under one roof. I love how versatile the spaces are – especially in the UK – where you can go from a business meeting to a yoga class to driving out to the countryside and enjoying a weekend break.’

‘I love being back at the London Houses – there’s a real buzz and energy to them. Summers on the rooftop of 40 Greek Street bring back so many happy memories, and then there’s the indoor pool at White City House; I would retreat there to relax, pick up a book and swim – it was a little escape from the bustling city.’

‘That said, if I had to name a favourite House, it would be Soho Beach House Miami. Everything from the decor and the cosy cabanas by the pool to the hidden tiki bar and (obviously) eating pizza on your sunbeds on Miami Beach is pretty dreamy.’

‘The Houses provide the perfect space to inspire and incubate ideas. You meet so many people who can impact you in different ways. You have access to incredible events, intimate talks and a network of members in every creative field you could think of.’

‘My advice to anyone considering membership is to disregard any stereotypes you might have about “traditional” members’ clubs. Be kind, inclusive and open to getting to know everyone. People are friendly and want to share their journeys, and are willing to give advice and inspire you.’

‘Bangkok is such a thriving 24-hour city, nurturing incredible talent influenced by its traditional Thai roots and modern influences from both the West and East. I can’t wait to enjoy a relaxed workspace with a Soho Mule in hand.’
