There’s no better way to celebrate love – with partners, friends or family – than booking an (invariably much-needed) mini-break. And let’s not forget about self-love. A solo getaway can be just as indulgent, taking some important time out from our hectic schedules. At Soho House, we celebrate closeness without the cliches, so take back Valentine’s by booking a bedroom in one of our most picturesque Houses around the world.
Europe
Soho House Rome
To Rome with love, where our rose-tinted outpost towers over the Eternal City from the heart of San Lorenzo. Inside, it’s a masterclass in modern Italian design: all terrazzo, travertine and terracotta, with spacious bedrooms furnished with emperor-size beds and roll-top baths. Dine at our House restaurant on the ninth floor and watch the sun set as you tuck into Rigatoni Amatriciana (order it with a bottle of Sangiovese). In the morning, burn it all off in a couples’ session at Soho Health Club, where studio spaces are dedicated to yoga, Pilates and mindfulness. If you like your romance with a side of wellness, you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere better.
Soho House Paris
Discover a different side of the French capital by making Soho House Paris your base. Our French outpost is located in Pigalle, a former red-light district between the 9th and 18th arrondissements, which is now home to hip bars and galleries. The transformed 19th-century apartment building – where the family of poet and artist Jean Cocteau once resided – is ideal for a romantic weekend. Pick an atmospheric Attic bedroom with specially commissioned murals and wooden ceilings, or a larger Boudoir bedroom if you’re yearning for something extravagant. Relax on the outdoor terrace overlooking the Winter Garden, perhaps with a refreshing dip in the plunge pool. After dinner and a few glasses of Champagne, go down to the Cabaret Room to enjoy some live music, before heading out to explore the city.
Soho House Barcelona
Soho House Barcelona sits on the graceful Plaça del Duc de Medinaceli, where you can see boats on the port bob happily on the water. The rooftop terrace is thick with the scent of herbs and Mediterranean shrubs. Order traditional tapas to your daybed and watch the sun arch over the city. Or, head down to the farmhouse-style Cowshed spa in the basement for some much-needed R&R (the eucalyptus sauna is particularly inviting).
UK
Babington House
There’s no better way to rediscover the simple pleasure of each other’s company than a countryside escape. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind, alongside all the digital disturbances. A 30-minute drive from Bath in the UK, Babington House is located in a 1705 Grade II-listed manor and surrounded by 18 acres of English landscape. Head out on a long walk to take in the views of the lake and hills, then get cosy by a fireplace in the Library. Unwind in the original Cowshed spa by enjoying the indoor and outdoor pools, a relaxing massage and a salt scrub, and a soak in the tub overlooking the Walled Garden. In the evening, head to the Orangery for an intimate dinner, with the menu incorporating plenty of fresh produce grown on-site. And the best thing? Ranging from rustic to refined, the bedrooms feature extra-comfy king-size beds and freestanding baths, so you can get the most out of your precious private time.
Dean Street Townhouse
In search of a spontaneous or surprise stay in the heart of the capital? Dean Street Townhouse in London’s Soho is located at the cultural epicentre, yet offers an instant comforting escape. The carefully restored Georgian townhouse has 39 bedrooms and a restaurant serving an all-day menu of British classics, cocktails and afternoon tea. Head upstairs at the end of your day to relax in the refined classic interiors, or simply enjoy room service wrapped up in fluffy bathrobes – there’s no right or wrong way to spend your special night.
North America
Soho Beach House Miami
This is the ideal place to ‘go big or go home’ when it comes to romantic gestures. Located in a 15-storey tower at the northernmost point of the Art Deco district, Soho Beach House Miami offers endless ocean views. The bedroom interiors were inspired by the Art Deco era and 1940s Cuba, and feature tiled floors, leather armchairs and raw concrete beams softened with patterned textiles and jewel-toned velvet sofas. Extra Large Ocean bedrooms, much loved by the rap legend Future, are designed like open-plan apartments, with two terraces, a living room and sea views – what else could you want for a Valentine’s getaway? Enjoy the pool surrounded by sunbeds during the day, then Ocho – the rooftop terrace on the eighth floor – complete with a bar and plunge pool, for sunset drinks. While exploring the city, you could be one of the first members to discover the oasis of Miami Pool House, which is opening soon.
Holloway House, Los Angeles
For art and design lovers, treat yourself to a stay at Holloway House in Los Angeles, which was inspired by the city’s mid-century creative scene – around the time when David Hockney produced his renowned pool paintings. The House has been designed with warm tones of sand and stone, with accents of burgundy leather, and features spacious light bedrooms. Discover the city or head out on a road trip to explore the wild landscape of Southern California. Then, share anecdotes on the open-air rooftop with views of the Hollywood Hills, or over a glass of Sonoma Coast Chardonnay in the restaurant where the House’s extensive art collection is displayed.
Soho House Nashville
If you love to connect with others through the mutual appreciation of music, Soho House Nashville is your destination. With three performance spaces, it frequently hosts emerging and celebrated musicians – a great spot for discovering new sounds together. The House is located in a former sock factory built in the early 1900s, decorated with Bauhaus-inspired geometric patterns and fitted out with fixtures that pay homage to the building’s history. Spacious bedrooms with exposed brick walls, wooden floors and freestanding baths offer comfort with an industrial edge. Spend an afternoon by the pool, followed by a late lunch at the Venetian-inspired Club Cecconi’s, which serves a selection of locally inspired dishes (we recommend the Lemon Pepper Chicken). Explore the city’s art scene and independent stores, then finish off the day with a live gig and a round of Picantes.
