Members kicked off the year with wellness-focused escapes sponsored by Alo at Soho Farmhouse, Soho House Mumbai and the LA-based Houses

Around the world, members use the Houses as places to escape and unwind. That’s why we started 2024 with a trio of wellness-focused Soho Retreats, in partnership with Alo; restorative breaks to help them reset and realign for the new year.

The first of these took place in January across the Los Angeles-based Houses. Guests made Soho House Holloway their base, venturing out to Little Beach House Malibu and Soho House West Hollywood for talks, activities and food throughout the weekend. In February, Soho House Mumbai hosted a three-day retreat that included yoga sessions and consultations with an ayurvedic doctor. And Soho Farmhouse in the UK provided the ultimate rural escape with Pilates by award-winning trainer Louisa Drake, ice baths in the new Wellness Barn, and more.

Read on for all the highlights from our wellness-focused retreats.

Soho Retreat Los Angeles
Friday 26 to Sunday 28 January

The Los Angeles retreat began at Soho House Holloway, where members took part in an intention-setting ceremony guided by Head of Member Experience, Tino DeMartino. This was followed by a family-style dinner with guest chef Max Lugavere, who discussed the impact of diet on brain health.

Saturday started with a sunrise meditation session on the House’s rooftop, before an afternoon of activities at Little Beach House Malibu. Here, members took paddleboarding lessons and HIIT classes on the beach or hiked in the Corral Canyon. Lunch was served with views of the ocean.

The final day kicked off with a choice of a yoga session with Alo or a run through the Hollywood Hills, before a recovery session with Hypervolt massage guns and a healthy brunch from chef and author, Aliza J Sokolow.

‘This was the best retreat I’ve ever done: paddleboarding in Malibu, the Champagne dinner in West Hollywood, tarot card reading, yoga on the rooftop – and my favourite memory: the sound bath under the full moon.’ Denise, Soho House member

Soho Retreat Mumbai
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 February

In Mumbai, members realigned their mind and body with four days of health-focused dining, including a special family-style dinner with guest chef Tanvi Shah, and yoga and sound healing sessions.

Holistic practices were interspersed throughout the weekend, too. Guests took part in a heart-opening cacao ceremony, dance and breathwork sessions, and massage therapies. They also received a one-to-one ayurvedic consultation from Dr Dimple Jangda of the Prana Healthcare Centre, and experienced the vibrancy of Mumbai with an excursion to organic farm Good Karma Farms, complete with a speedboat ride, hike and lunch.

‘This was an incredible experience – I got everything I needed from the retreat and met some wonderful people from around the globe. The sessions were insightful and soul searching. I feel in a state of Zen.’ Erica, Soho House member

Soho Retreat Soho Farmhouse
Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 February

The English countryside retreat started with an intention-setting session, followed by a cacao ceremony led by sound artist and musician Kate Fleur Young in the Barwell Barn. The next day featured a mix of activities, from sunrise vinyasa yoga and a HIIT class, to Pilates with trainer Louisa Drake and a breathwork session in the Glasshouse.

Throughout the retreat, members were treated to healthy breakfasts and group dinners every day, including a lunch and Q&A with Dr Federica Amati, author of Better Menopause, and a family-style vegetarian feast in the Barwell Barn, prepared by Ravinder Bhogal, restaurateur, chef and author of Comfort And Joy.

The Farm also offered plenty of additional wellbeing boosters throughout the retreat, such as cold therapy ice baths in the newly opened Wellness Barn, relaxing soaks in the Lazy Lake, and sound healing sessions in the tranquil grounds.

‘What a game-changing experience I’ve had over the last few days, full of wellness-boosting sessions and talks. I can’t forget all of the new people I’ve met, the great food and the hospitality shown by the whole Soho Farmhouse team.’ Justin, Soho House member
