Located on the first floor of Soho House West Hollywood on the iconic Sunset Boulevard, The Luckman Club is our newest event space – and one of the most special within our Houses around the world.
Named in honour of the building’s original architect, Charles Luckman, it will be used for both member and private events. The space was previously used for events until 2014 – and we’re returning it to its roots, creating a dedicated place that members can hire for dinners, performances, panel discussions, cocktail parties, and more.

‘The motivation for creating The Luckman Club really was our members,’ explains Chris Smith, Head of Private Events, West Coast. ‘They often ask for a dedicated area to host events, with lots of our Founder members having fond memories and stories of the space many years ago – Prince popping in and doing a surprise performance, that kind of thing – so we brought it back.’
Inspired by classic Hollywood glamour, the club features three event spaces with views over the Los Angeles skyline and Beverly Hills, with sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. The largest space of the three, the Luckman Club Bar can host 85 standing guests and 40 seated. A cocktail bar, complete with mauve leather, rich wood and earthy pink marble, offers a focal point to the room, alongside deep ruby-red wainscoting and silk wall coverings. The furniture – all of which can be moved to suit the needs of an event – features classic Hollywood 1960s designs, upholstered in jewel-toned fabrics.

For more intimate occasions, the Luckman Club Lounge can hold 30 guests, seated or standing. Occupying one corner, the space has an abundance of natural light during the day with views overlooking the hills, thanks to two walls of windows. An amber glass partition wall allows the lounge to be opened up into the adjoining bar for larger gatherings.
Then there’s the versatile private dining room, which can be used for lunches, dinners and meetings for up to 20 guests. It features leather vintage-inspired bridge chairs set around a solid oak table, with a wet bar crafted from honey-toned wood with a green natural stone top.
Each of these spaces has been meticulously designed to pay homage to its location, while also looking to the surrounding House for inspiration.

‘We wanted The Luckman Club to feel really elevated, but comfortable and inviting, too. The sophistication of 1930s Hollywood was an important design reference,’ says Danielle Vourlas, Director of Soho House Design ‑ North America. ‘That translated into soft shapes balanced with a palette of bold, classic colours and subtle, Art Deco-inspired finishes.’
But it’s the attention to detail that makes The Luckman Club a special place to host events. The team is on hand to ensure every party, performance or dinner held in the space feels unique, whether that’s with embroidered dinner napkins, custom blind embossed leather placemats, caviar bumps with your Martinis, or ice cubes stamped with the club’s logo.
