Take a look inside Shoreditch House’s refresh

The fifth-floor update is complete – and brings back the best bits from the House’s founding days, plus new menus and chef residencies

Call us nostalgic, but lately we’ve been looking back to our roots to bring members more of what they love about Soho House. And in the spirit of revival, we’ve been working hard to give Shoreditch House a refresh – with new interiors, menus and exciting residencies from some of London’s buzziest chefs. And as the ultimate House to spend morning, noon and night, we’ve also created new areas in the club to relax, socialise and work.

Last week, we revealed the results of our fifth-floor refresh. On arrival, members are greeted with an updated space that feels both new and yet reassuringly familiar, with interiors inspired by those of the club when it was first established. We’ve made things lighter and brighter, with added space and more seating. Eagle-eyed Founder members may even be able to spot some new velvet seating, which offers a nod to the original pink velvet armchairs in the Sitting Room.

We’ve also reinstated a few former favourites members told us they missed most, like family-style communal dining tables in House Kitchen, and the iconic candy station. There’s also a new all-day House menu that takes inspiration from east London’s eclectic culinary scene, with small plates that go bold on flavour, use seasonal, local ingredients and are made to be shared. We’ll also be serving a new breakfast selection inspired by old-school East London cafes: hearty full English breakfasts, kippers, and beans on toast are all on the menu.
Back by popular demand, a new pool table takes pride of place in the Games Room alongside the ping pong tables. These also convert into extra desks to give you more places to work during the day (and leave more time for play at night). Plus, we’ve added a new dedicated laptop area in the Library, too.

But if all this talk of work is making you hungry, head up to the sixth floor. Starting this month, the Back Deck will play host to a new rotating food and drink residency, featuring some of the city’s most-loved chefs and restaurants. To kick things off in February, we’re welcoming local Shoreditch hero Bistro Freddie, with head chef Alexandre Reynolds serving his take on modern French food using the best of British produce. Think Chicken Liver Parfait with a hunk of Guinness bread or crispy Cod Schnitzel with warm tartar sauce.
Finally, there’s the return of members’ favourite weekly House events such as comedy, bingo, quiz nights, supper clubs alongside the biggest names in music. We’ve also we’ve relaunched classes and treatments in the gym and spa under our new wellness concept, Soho Health Club. See you in the House…
Bookings for the Back Deck can now be made for Thursday 6 February onwards via the Soho House app
