There are many things that give our Houses that distinct ‘home away from home’ feeling, no matter where you are in the world – including, of course, the food. Alongside a carefully curated menu inspired by local influences, there’s also our House Regulars: classic and beloved dishes that you can always rely on.
In the spirit of constantly evolving and improving, we’ve given our menu of House Regulars in the UK a little bit of an upgrade. You’ll still spot some of the old favourites you know and love (like the Butter Chicken Curry and Mac and Cheese), but there’s also a host of new dishes for you to discover, including some of these highlights.
1. Ham Croquettes
Don’t be fooled, these are so much more than your average croquettes. Coated in panko breadcrumbs and served with moreish aioli, these ham croquettes are a sophisticated take on a comfort food classic.
2. Beetroot Dip
When you’re travelling – be it for work or pleasure – the last thing you need to be worrying about is how you’re going to get in your five-a-day. That’s where our beetroot dip comes in: bright-pink beetroot hummus is served with fresh crudites, including red gem lettuce, cucumber and celery sticks, radish and heritage carrots.
3. Baby Artichokes
The perfect side dish or a delicious light lunch, seared artichokes are livened up with a little spice, courtesy of pickled chillies and a hit of umami-laced Parmesan. Equal parts fresh and decadent, you’ll never look at the humble artichoke in quite the same way again.
4. Chalk Stream Trout
A bona-fide superfood, the omega 3-filled fish in this dish is slow grown and sustainably sourced – and doesn’t that make it even more delicious? The trout is paired with vibrant chard and salsa verde, finished with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
5. Brick Chicken
Perfectly tender and with mouthwateringly crispy skin, this comforting take on a Tuscan classic is served with sauteed spinach and confit garlic. Pour on lots of gravy and enjoy; we’d particularly recommend this dish to placate a ‘one too many glasses of Lady A’-style hangover.
