Celebrate Black History Month UK around the Houses | Soho House

From talks by Black women conquering the corporate world to a special dinner party with Taste of Africa, here’s what to expect

Thursday 28 September 2023   By Soho House

October marks the beginning of Black History Month in the UK – a time to celebrate, educate and connect with Black Britishness, and the communities and experiences that shape it.

This year, we’ve worked with our members to curate a line-up of programming that includes something for everyone. Sharmadean Reid MBE and editor-in-chief of ELLE UK, Kenya Hunt, will be hosting a talk at 180 House on conquering the corporate world as senior executives and decision-makers. Over at White City House, activist, journalist and poet Akala will be sharing some of his knowledge with members for one of our Sunday Morning sessions. And Golda Rosheuvel, star of Netflix’s Queen Charlotte, will kick off our annual Words We Write festival with an intimate Q&A at Shoreditch House.

We’ll also be hosting a special Bistronomic dining experience at Shoreditch House with our friends from Taste of Africa, who will be curating a menu that reflects the diverse flavours and ingredients used in various traditional dishes from across the continent.

Below is a full list of what we’ve got coming up thus Black History Month.
