From an ultra-fast watch to the stompy boots you just need, here’s a definitive list of everything to add to your shopping cart

Shopping can be overwhelming at times. Whether you’re revamping your skincare collection, after a new piece of furniture for your home, or you simply want to treat yourself to a new bag, the options often appear endless – especially when browsing online.
Thankfully, the Soho House editorial team is here to help you decide what’s worth the investment, with a weekly round-up of what to shop – from the best in beauty to fashion and interior must-haves, and beyond. This week, we’ve got our eyes on a YMC collab, a mini bag with a double life and some stomping boots from Ganni. You can also get your hands on Soho Home’s Alderton rug.
1. The oversized jumper
As much as we love the long, slow slide into autumn with its promise of bracing walks, pub lunches and firesides, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t struggling – just a little – to bid the warmer weather goodbye, so you can imagine our delight at landing on this little number in sherbet yellow. Cable-knit in wool and cashmere, it’s cosy and chunky enough to make us want to embrace the season sunny-side up.
Secas oversized cable-knit wool and cashmere-blend sweater, Loulou Studio at NET-A-PORTER, £335
2. The heart-shaped bag
Wear your heart across your body this week. Rocha’s stunning marbled clutch was a standout in a standout AW22 show at LFW earlier this year – and now it can be yours (if we don’t get to it first). Gloriously finished with a signature pearl strap and leather trims, this is one heart you won’t be looking to give away any time soon.
Heart leather-trimmed marbled acrylic clutch, Simon Rocha, £650
3. The limited-edition watch
The sexiest German car manufacturer in the business, Porsche has teamed up with Tag Heuer for the fourth time with this nostalgia-soaked take on the Swiss brand’s classic Carrera timepiece. Available with red notes in rose gold or in classic steel with white and blue highlights, we’re particularly taken with the latter. Vroom vroom.
Tag Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 watch, Tag Heuer, £6,400
4. The big boots
The Chelsea boot revival continues to go from strength to strength, and this pair from Ganni is a perfect of example why. With that grained patent finish and soles chunky enough to rival the tyres on the kind of 4x4 beloved by SW1’s finest, these boots are made for stomping and we love them for it.
Cleated mid Chelsea boots, Ganni, £395
5. The smart tee
In our opinion, you can never have too many white T-shirts, and this one from independent clothing brand YMC is a must-have. With sale proceeds going towards west London-based youth charity The Avenues Youth Project, the back of the T-shirt features an image taken by photographer Ulrike Preuss of Stevie Wonder surrounded by children when he visited the organisation in 1983 while on tour in the UK.
The Avenues unisex charity T-shirt, YMC, £45
6. The ultra rug
It’s our belief that the right rug can maketh the room – and the one that’s doing it for us this week is our very own Soho Home Alderton rug in autumnal rusty tones. Hand-knotted in India, its ikat-inspired design echoes the fabrics and colourways found in Soho House Austin. Epic.
Alderton rug in rust, Soho Home, £2,635
7. The sexy tie
Balenciaga’s trompe l’oeil-style leather as denim is so very last week (for the purposes of this entry at least). This week, we’re welcoming the retro charms of the Gucci pre-knotted skinny leather tie into our wardrobes – complete with press-stud fastening. What’s not to like?
Leather tie, Gucci, £400
8. The designer fragrance
To be honest, we’d buy this for the bottle alone. From its antique silver stopper to the hand-painted porcelain surround, it’s design is note perfect. Fortunately, the scent inside is, too. Inspired by the silk dresses in the label’s Quai Malaquais boutique in Paris, bergamot and blackcurrant top notes give way to rose and silk, with a rich chestnut and cocoa base. Divine.
Soie Malaquais Eau De Parfum (100ml), Dries Van Noten, £215
9. The dream mules
Just when you thought your Birkenstocks couldn’t get any more chic, along comes this collaboration with the mighty house of Dior. A nubuck calfskin upper with tonal rubber reinforced toe and hallmark aluminium buckle. Need we say more?
Dior by Birkenstock Tokio mules, Dior, £840
10. The new kilt
Is there a single item of clothing that’s ridden shotgun to quite as many culture movements and fashion moments as the kilt? Arguably. But one with such singular and distinctive style? Arguably not. Either way, the classic tartan ‘skirt’ is having a(nother) moment – and we couldn’t be more delighted.
Wrap kilt, Nicholas Daley, £540
11. The retro camera
Nothing says ‘surprise’ quite like opening up a pack of analogue film photographs fresh from the printers. The thumb over the lens, the blurred perspective are all part of the fun. Plus, there’s always – always – one you can’t ever remember taking. And this bright 1980s-style example looks good, too. You’ll find us in the darkroom.
Dubblefilm Show 35mm analogue camera, Dubblefilm at Selfridges, £62
12. The classic watch
This reissue of Timex’s classic stainless steel 1970s diving-inspired ‘Q’ watch – with its on-the-right-side-of chunky face and strap, and precise quartz movement – will be adorning our wrists this week. Tells the date, too.
Q Timex reissue 38mm stainless steel watch, Timex at MR PORTER, £160
13. The mini bag
Mini bags are impractical, you say? Not this one. Crafted from upcycled leather, it has a structured design that lets it double up as an egg holder in its downtime. And they say fashion is one dimensional…
Upcycled leather bag, Nensi Avetisian at Apoc Store, £210
