The highlights of 2024
We’re wrapping up the year by taking a look back at some key moments from the last 12 months
Friday 20 December 2024 By Soho House
2024 has been an exciting year at Soho House, filled with new openings, memorable member events, and the arrival of a host of restaurants at our clubs. We’ve also popped up at some key cultural events around the world – from special bars and restaurants at some of the biggest festivals, to our Met Gala afterparty in New York.
The year kicked off with the opening of Soho House Portland, our first House in the Pacific Northwest, followed by Soho House São Paulo over the summer. We’ve loved welcoming local and travelling members through their doors since, and we’re excited to expand our creative communities in each city in the years to come. 2024 also saw the opening of The Luckman Club, our special events space in Soho House West Hollywood, as well as the arrival of Pen Yen and Brasserie Boheme at Ludlow House in New York. Plus, we welcomed the Persian restaurant Berenjak with pop-ups on either side of the pond at Soho Farmhouse and DUMBO House. Our drinks menus had a refresh this year, too, thanks to the introduction of the Casa Verde cocktail, inspired by São Paulo, and a new non-alcoholic menu featuring 0% cocktails, wines, beers, and infusions.
As always, member events were a big part of our year. Soho Summit, our festival of ideas powered by Porsche, returned to Rome with speakers including Daisy Ridley and Sam Taylor-Johnson, and a closing party performance by Maribou State. Jessie Ware and Chaka Khan headlined Soho House Festival in London in July, and we took over Soho Farmhouse and Soho House Nashville later in the year for our Food Festival, complete with food pop-ups, cooking demonstrations, panels, and parties.
We celebrated the creativity of our members with events like Soho House 76 Dean Street’s Art Fayre, an afterparty hosted by Barry Keoghan at Soho House New York following the Met Gala, and our Miami Art Week programming at Soho Beach House and Miami Pool House. A particular highlight of the week-long event included a Secret Sounds performance by Chance the Rapper.
Elsewhere, we popped up in Cannes to host a party at the iconic film festival, held a Golden Globes cocktail reception at Soho Mews House in London, and a Universal Oscars® party at Soho House West Hollywood with winners Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. We also celebrated Tribeca Film Festival at our New York Houses with special film screenings and parties. Q&As with top industry talent became a mainstay in our programming too, as we welcomed everyone from Kate Winslet, Robbie Williams, Steve McQueen and Alicia Vikander to Jude Law and Lupita Nyong’o to discuss their upcoming projects.
We really focused on bringing members unique music-related events throughout 2024, with our Glastonbury wind-down at Babington House, SXSW celebrations at Soho House Austin, and the introduction of new music franchises around the world. There have been surprise Secret Soho Sounds sets from the likes of Kaytranada, James Blake, Natasha Bedingfield and Foster The People; superstar Nas took to the stage at our Houses in Stockholm, Berlin, Paris and White City in London; and we introduced our Unplugged series, with acoustic sets by Emeli Sandé, Ghetts, and Jools Holland. And, of course, we can’t forget the special one-off performances – including Fatboy Slim opening the new gym at Brighton Beach House, Nick Cave at the opening of Soho Mews House, and The Libertines taking over the rooftop at White City House.
Soho Home, our interiors range inspired by the Houses, launched a new collection alongside its first book, Bringing The House Home, Volume 1. Full of inspiration, tips and advice, it’s a celebration of all things design at Soho House.
Looking to the year ahead, we’ll be opening Soho Farmhouse Ibiza next summer. Set in a working olive grove, it will bring all the things you love about Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire to members living in and visiting the White Island, including bedrooms, an outdoor pool, a holistic wellness experience with a gym, a yoga deck and treatment rooms, and an organic kitchen garden restaurant and bar.
Set in a former 1900s Catalan family home, Barcelona Pool House – our third House in the city – will open its doors with a gym, pool and two floors of club space. We’ll also open Soho House Manchester, which our members in the North of England have been patiently waiting for. We hope you’re as excited as we are.
