Soho Friends presents: Oceanic Global Short Film Festival
An open call to all film-makers interested in bringing positive environmental storytelling to a worldwide audience

The impact of climate change continues to dominate headlines: extreme weather, global warming, rising seas, food supply disruptions, poverty, and population displacement. In the face and knowledge of it all, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless. However, there are stories of people and communities doing inspiring things to reverse, prevent or mitigate those impacts.
Soho House are therefore happy to announce our partnership with Oceanic Global for its second annual Short Film Festival. We join them in calling all film-makers who are interested in sustainability to showcase positive and hopeful environmental storytelling within the theme of ‘A Celebration of Change’.
The festival will bring together a panel of critically acclaimed judges, including award-winning documentary directors, Joya Berrow and Lucy Jane (The Right To Roam), to review submissions and select a set of the winning films for this year’s edition.
The prizes for the final films selected by the jury include mentorship sessions with selected judges and/ or award-winning film-makers, as well as a free kit hire worth £1,000 from New Day Pictures (available for UK finalists only), a leading film and TV equipment hire company.
There will also be an in-person film screening showing the final films, as well as Q&A sessions with the producer/ directors at Electric Cinema in London’s White City surrounding Earth Day.
