Introducing the Babington Art Fayre

On Saturday 9 September, Babington House will be transformed into an art festival featuring talks, workshops, and artworks for sale, of course – a first for Soho House. And Jealous Gallery will create an Art Fete complete with a tombola, raffle and games. It’s perfect for those who are ardent lovers of art, those who are completely new to it and everyone in between.

Curated by Soho House’s Global Director of Art, Kate Bryan, members (and their guests) will enjoy exclusive access to specially commissioned editions and original pieces by established and emerging artists, featuring David Shrigley, Mary McCartney and Sue Webster.

 

There will also be exhibiting artists present throughout the day: Jessica Albarn, Danny Augustine, Charming Baker, Venetia Berry, Adam Bridgland, Morag Caister, Lindsey Mendick for Quench Gallery, Gommie, Lucy Gough, Josip Grgić, Curtis Holder, Eliza Hopewell, Sarah Maple, Mary McCartney, Polly Ruffman, David Shrigley, Gina Soden, Lucy Sparrow, Amy Stephens, Theo Vass, and Sue Webster.

 

As part of our ongoing commitment to support creative changemakers and the next generation of talent, Soho Visionaries, powered by Porsche will be hosting two workshops in the Log Room: print making with Bridgland and painting with Berry. Plus, to mark 25 years of Babington House, you can see the unveiling of a site-specific permanent sculpture in the grounds by Stephens, and catch a spoken word performance at the end of the day by poet-artist Gommie on the lawn.

 

Aimed at all ages (including the little ones), everyone can enjoy food and drinks from 12pm at our barbecue and terrace bar shack. Plus, there will be a Moët & Chandon area and a Woodford Reserve bar takeover. Members can also get the opportunity to sit for a portrait with Holder, Caister and Grgić, courtesy of Bombay Sapphire, and there will be talks by Shrigley, as well as one by Bryan herself on ‘everything you always wanted to know about buying art.’
