Honey Dijon and Mike Skinner take over Soho House Manchester

Last week, members arrived at our newest club, Soho House Manchester, for an evening of surprises inspired by The Platinum Card’s world of dining, travel and music. On arrival, they received a special platinum token that they could exchange for a welcome cocktail at our takeover by Joe Schofield of SCHOFIELD’S BAR – bringing one of Manchester’s most celebrated drinking spots inside the House for the night.

On the ninth floor, cofounder Joe Schofield served a bold line-up of Platinum-inspired cocktails, including the Platinum Margarita with Patrón Silver tequila, lemongrass, chilli and citrus, and the Platinum Voyage with Grey Goose vodka, pear, apple, and citrus.

Meanwhile, on the eighth floor in the club and restaurant, Matteo D’Elia, head chef at Manchester favourite Louis, treated members to a complimentary dessert from his signature trolley, courtesy of Amex® Platinum. His velvet cannoli were filled with raspberries, custard cream and desiccated coconut, and finished with a subtle Vimto infusion, paying tribute to the famous soft drink’s Manchester heritage. Guests attending the event included Karen Elson, Martins Imhangbe, Amber Anderson, Connor Swindells, and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who all enjoyed the first taste of Soho House Manchester’s late-night energy.

To open the performances, north-east London artist Kianja took to the Orange Room with her smooth, soulful vocals and live arrangements. A standout talent from the Amex Unsigned programme, which supports emerging UK artists, she set the tone for the evening, followed by a set from our House DJ duo, Joe Social.

Later, Uribi warmed up the seventh floor ahead of a headline DJ set from Honey Dijon, who filled the dance floor with dynamic club sounds into the early hours. 

To close, The Streets’ Mike Skinner took over the Orange Room for a lively late-night DJ set rounding off a memorable evening.
