Inside our Portrait Series events around the Houses

November saw the launch of our Portrait Series, powered by Bombay Sapphire. After a successful event at the Babington Art Fayre in September, in five Houses across the UK and Europe, we were joined by a selection of local portrait artists. Here, they created one-off interpretations of our members, which they could take home.

We wanted these events to feel like an embodiment of the things we celebrate in our Houses: creativity, good music and memories made with friends. So, alongside watching the artists at work, members were treated to sets from House DJs and a gin-based cocktail menu – unique to each House – that included four Bombay Sapphire serves. One cocktail on each list was inspired by an artist in attendance, labelled as the Artist’s Choice.

Babington 25 Art Fayre
Saturday 9 September
Part of our celebrations for 25 years of Babington House, at our countryside outpost artists Curtis Holder, Josip Grgić and Morag Caister created portraits of our members. The menu included the Artist’s Choice Babington Old Fashioned, as well as a Bombay Barbie Negroni, Babington 25 and Bombay G&Tea.

Soho House Berlin 
Saturday 11 November
At our House in the German capital, members enjoyed cocktails including the Bombay & Tonic, Artist’s Choice and a classic Negroni, while posing for portraits by artists Anne Bengard, Jan Scheirs, Andreas Hachulla, Lydia Prien, and Daniel Marin Medina.

Soho House Stockholm 
Saturday 11 November
Over in Stockholm, cocktails such as the Floral French and Berry Bramble were on the menu. The Artist’s Choice was a Cosmo, elevated with a blend of Bombay Sapphire gin and milky oolong tea. Artists in attendance were Marta Leyva, Maria Murphy, Andrea Pippins, and Jiashen Han.

Soho House Amsterdam 
Saturday 18 November
Artists Audy Audy Alferin, Safae Gounane, Ina van Zyl and Astrid Vos joined us at the House to create portraits of members, who chose from a cocktail menu that included a Daily Routine cocktail. This Artist’s Choice cocktail featured Bombay Sapphire gin, vermouth, spicy mango, and tonic.

Soho House Paris
Sunday 19 November
At our Paris outpost, members chose from a cocktail menu that included a unique Artist’s Choice: Wisdom. This drink balanced sage-infused Bombay Sapphire, St-Germain, lavender, lime, pomegranate, and basil soda. Artists present were Camille de Cussac, Antoine Presles, Jeanne Boyer, and Anjuna Boutan.

White City House 
Saturday 25 November
In London, members’ portraits were completed by artists Charlotte Mei, Curtis Holder and Morag Caister. On the menu, there were classics like the French 75, as well as the Artist’s Choice cocktail, an Old Flame. This drink mixed Bombay Sapphire gin, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, bitter aperitif, and citrus.
