Our annual gathering for the art fair came around in the blink of an eye, and this year we hosted a lunch at Shoreditch House with more than 60 talents

With Frieze Week being one of the biggest events in the art world, we support and celebrate the occasion with our own art team at Soho House. This year, it was held at our east London outpost, Shoreditch House – a creative hub in its own right – where 60 guests attended a lunch.

The turnout included art writer, Jennifer Higgie; associate director of Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Helen Pheby, and cofounder of the Soho House art collection, Jonathan Yeo. Plus, a mix of artists such as Michael Landy, Gillian Wearing, Michaela Yearwood-Dan, Lindsey Mendick, Alex Hartley, Godfried Donkor, Charming Baker, and Sarah Maple.

Everyone was greeted with a Picante, while our Global Director of Art, Kate Bryan, gave a welcome speech and introduced the new House art maps released this week. As well as receiving a Shoreditch House art map – one of the special 10 printed editions we’ve launched – guests were gifted a special limited-edition print by Annie Kevans to thank them for their commitment to Soho House. Kevans created a series for Soho House Paris, which is on display there, and this edition ‘Andy Warhol In Drag’ is a continuation of this.

To finish, the artists created a surrealist Exquisite Corpse drawing (a method where images are collectively assembled to make a final image), which involves each person drawing sections of a body that’s then folded to hide each individual’s contribution. Then, everyone enjoyed a few more drinks before heading home.
