Going against London Fashion Week’s regular programming, 76 Dean Street played host to a fashion showcase like no other. Styled by Imruh Asha, fashion director of Dazed & Confused, the looks on show were made up of donated garments from some of Britain’s leading fashion designers, including Priya Ahluwalia, Bianca Saunders, Roksanda Ilincic, Walé Adeyemi, Richard Quinn, and Charles Jeffrey.
Set designed by internationally renowned artist Tony Hornecker, the show was a departure from traditional runway presentations. Inspired by different queer cultures and pivotal queer moments, models vogued, danced, and posed to show off their looks, with host Jonny Woo, owner of east London’s favourite queer pub The Glory, invigorating the crowd. Members and guests also came snatched (it is fashion week after all), with notable well-dressed onlookers including model and activist Munroe Bergdorf, Drag Race UK icon Bimini Bon Boulash, and Miss Jason of Jason’s Closet. Closing the night was a live performance from South London rapper and artist SHYGIRL, followed by DJ sets from Jordss and Pxssy Palace residents.
All garments showcased will soon be available to buy on our Depop shop. All proceeds will go to Queer Britain, the UK’s first national LGBTQ+ museum, opening in Granary Square, King’s Cross, in April 2022.
