Last week, tradition, fashion and sustainability merged together at Soho House Hong Kong for its Lunar New Year-themed clothing market

For those celebrating Lunar New Year, procuring and wearing new clothes to welcome in the new year is an age-old tradition. Last weekend at Soho House Hong Kong, members and guests put their own twist on the custom. Swapping their garments with ones on show, the House showcased designs from local sustainable clothing brands, including waste-free made-to-order jeans by Unspun, handmade sustainable denim by ThoughtWeFriends, and second-hand vintage clothing by No Thrillsss.

A collaborative effort between the House, cofounder of organisation Social Alpha Foundation, Nydia Zhang, and local sustainability movement, Take Out Plastic, more than 300 people participated in the swap and around 3,000 pieces of clothing were exchanged. A great day for slow fashion.
