Soho House West Hollywood

The art collection at Soho House West Hollywood has evolved across several iterations, reflecting the transformations of the city as a creative hub for artists
The most recent collection was co-curated by Kate Bryan and Anakena Paddon, between 2023 and 2025. In 2025, a new site-specific commission by Eric Uhlir was created for the House – a wraparound painting measuring over 100 feet which presents an abstracted hybrid between Californian (US) and Norfolk (UK) landscapes.
Moving away from the historic monochromatic collection, which was formed of an international lineup when the House originally opened, this new one is testament to the incredibly strong art scene that has developed in the city over the past decade, highlighting artists born, based or trained in Los Angeles. A key exception to this guideline is the inclusion of two artworks by Harland Miller, deploying typically British deadpan humor, and beloved by our California members.
Notable works include established figures of the historic Californian art scene, such as Ed Ruscha, Ed Kienholz, Judy Chicago, and the late artists John Baldessari and Billy Al Bengston. Works by a younger generation of museum-level talent include original pieces by Hebru Brantley, Parker Ito, David Horvitz, Hilary Pecis, José Parlá, Muna Malik and Walead Beshty. Other key works include Athier Mousawi, Lila de Magalhaes, Samantha Thomas, Manuel López, Tidawhitney Lek and Anna Freeman Bentley’s filmic ‘portraits’ of the House made on a residency in the city.
The Luckman Club collection was installed in late 2024, and features dynamic Los Angeles painters such as John Reagan, Erin Wright, Greg Ito, Pui Tiffany Chow, and Emily Ferguson. The first iteration of the West Hollywood collection was co-curated by Jonathan Yeo and Fru Tholstrup in 2010.
