Dean Street Townhouse

Soho House’s global art collection was founded at Dean Street Townhouse. Although the company is more than 30 years old, it was only when this site opened in 2009 that the idea for a permanent art collection took hold
Jonathan Yeo curated the collection with arts writer Francesca Gavin, and they acquired work from a brilliant line-up of London talent including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Gavin Turk, Keith Tyson, Polly Morgan, and Peter Blake. All of the artwork was monochromatic and modest in size, hung in an energetic salon style throughout the space.
Much of the original work remains on display and has been complemented over the years by the addition of new works, such as pieces by Nicole Wermers and Yinka Shonibare. In 2018, Soho House’s Chief Art Director, Kate Bryan, curated the Parlour with eight young women artists who each presented at least three pieces: Marie Jacotey, France-Lise McGurn, Delphine Lebourgeois, Hattie Stewart, Kimberly Klauss, May Hands, Scarlett Bowman, and Florence Peake. This was an introduction of colour and larger scale work.
