'When I came to Miami for the first time, I found somewhere I culturally identified with,' says Dav Julca, who, along with his brother Johnny, make up the pop group XAXO.

Born in Panama, the duo moved to Ohio as teens, and absorbed cultural influences from both places 'without really having a place to belong,' Dav explains in the film. It was in the Midwest, however, that they began to hone their musical ability, performing in a church where their parents were pastors.

When they moved to Miami in 2010, the Julcas embraced the city’s cultural diversity and Latin American community, and soon found their groove. They began working with major names, such as Ricky Martin, Pitbull and Jason Derulo, but grew restless. In 2015, they formed XAXO, their own pop outfit, and began experimenting with new talent and blending genres like funk, rock and R&B. Now, firmly established in Wynwood, they’ve become major players in the city’s creative scene.
