Work-life balance. Three little words that are so simple to say, yet so difficult to achieve now more than ever, as we attempt to find our feet in a world that’s hurtling forward as it tries to catch up. We’re working insanely long hours, with weekends lost to deadlines and evenings lost to socialising. It’s easy to feel like you’re just one Picante away from burning out. In other words, the personal part of life has ended up as an afterthought, leaving little time to just… breathe.
There comes a point in life when you need a proper break – a chance to take yourself off-grid (and far from the madding crowd) to a place where you’ll find sumptuous comforts and great views in equal measure, as well as the time to truly enjoy them. Sound inviting? Then let us introduce you to our new Huts at Soho Farmhouse, designed to facilitate a complete mental and physical detox, where you can heal body and soul without even trying. Just in time for spring, too.
Tucked away in 100 acres of farmland, you’ll find 20 of our well-furnished boltholes behind the Boathouse at everyone’s favourite countryside escape. There are two types on offer: Field View Huts, which look out over swathes of rolling green landscape, and Farm View Huts where you can gaze over bucolic scenes of grazing cattle. Both are designed to let nature in, with lofty ceilings, panoramic windows and full-height sliding doors that blur the line between outside and in.
Inside, they’re a masterclass in rustic chic: all green terrazzo floors, muted palettes, limewashed walls, brushed gold metalwork, and Douglas fir timber ceilings. Each one is fitted with a walk-in shower, wood-burning stove, underfloor heating, a mini-bar, living area, and emperor-size beds that are piled high with soft furnishings. The best bit? Every Hut comes with its own terrace and wooden bath. Imagine that: bathing on your mezzanine terrace at dusk, safe in the knowledge that the only disturbance you might experience is the sound of nature.
Unlike other accommodation at Soho Farmhouse, our Huts are closer to the facilities, meaning that you can dip into the outdoor-indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, or dine at the restaurant whenever you wish. It’s life off-grid with readily available luxuries when you need them.
