A-list facials, bespoke brows by a former Dior make-up artist, and even a spot of fencing; Alex Eagle has curated your next wellbeing experience and it’s anything but ordinary

Tucked away on the second floor of the iconic Brutalist building on the Strand, 180 Health Club might just be London’s best-kept secret in the burgeoning world of wellness.

Designer and aesthete Alex Eagle has lent her exacting eye to the club, evolving the Alex Eagle Sporting Club fashion concept to take over a physical space that welcomes members of 180 The Strand, Soho House and Soho Works.

‘My vision was to create a beautiful, light-filled space founded on the joy of movement,’ says Eagle. ‘It’s all about connecting as a community, as well as enjoying an amazing schedule of classes and treatments from practitioners I have been lucky enough to experience over the years.’

On the club menu (which changes weekly), you’ll find a line-up curated by leading figures from the movement, beauty and wellness worlds. From facials by Fatma Shaheen to brows by former Dior make-up artist, Suzanne Martin and boxing with London favourite, Box Clever, Eagle has cherry-picked the best of the best.

Elsewhere in the club, there is a series of tech-based body therapies (ozone and infrared saunas, cryotherapy, compression and percussion tools), and a central airy ‘loft’ in which sizeable sofas and reclining chairs provide space to meet, relax and enjoy a plant-based drink or snack from the on-site cafe.

Whether you’re looking for an urban retreat or an innovative treatment, here’s everything you need to know about the new space.

Meet, refuel and book an express treatment at the Loft
The Loft is flooded with natural light and features furniture designed by Eagle & Hodges, alongside tropical plants and superlative reading material (we’re looking at you, Soho House magazine). Grab a superfood latte, munch on a Spring Green Blue Mylk + Cacao energy ball, or simply relax on a lounger while you access the complimentary compression boots or LED face mask.

Vegan manicures and pedicures led by Still London, or an IV drip from Koniver Wellness can also be booked at the Loft.

Experience an evolving, curated menu of treatments
180 Health Club features a weekly programme of massages, nutritional therapies, acupuncture and facials led by beauty industry icons such as Skin Design London and Annee de Mamiel. Treatments can be enjoyed in one of three private rooms.

The latest hot and cold body therapies are also available to book every day. These include use of the private infrared and ozone saunas (great for detoxing, reducing inflammation and boosting metabolism) and whole-body cryotherapy (known to help reduce anxiety, aid weight loss and improve recovery).

Take a movement class or book in for one to one training
Classes at 180 Health Club follow an ever-changing schedule, meaning there’s always something new to try. Book in for favourites like athletic Pilates, yoga, boxing, breathwork, and dance. Or perhaps try your hand at group fencing, Brazilian jujitsu, aerial yoga, or Yamuna body rolling.

Sessions with a personal trainer can be booked at the dedicated workout zone, or if you’re short on time, E-Pulsive’s EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) training sessions run for just 20 minutes, as do the one-on-one fencing lessons.

Host a private event or record your own content
With a raft of different technologies, 180 Health Club is also available for private hire, offering some of the city’s most versatile and incredible event spaces. Aside from the versatility and photogenic appeal of the spaces themselves, the Studios and the Loft are fitted with digital screens and 4K cameras for automated filming or live streaming.

More than just a changing room
As you would expect, the changing rooms continue the signature design touches with terrazzo-tiled floors, wooden lockers, water stations, and private rainforest shower rooms. Roomy and well-lit, the vanity stations come neatly arranged with complimentary GHD styling tools and essential products. If you fancy an extra touch, book in for brows and lashes or barbering sessions.
