What is Soho Skin Face Oil?
‘The Face Oil is the ultimate skin-softening, radiance-boosting treatment oil,’ says Soho Skin Education Manager, Nathan Moore. ‘Although lightweight in texture, it packs a moisturising punch; it’s intensely nourishing without feeling heavy.

‘Even better, we formulated it for all skin types (those with a complexion that feels dry, dehydrated or uncomfortable will especially appreciate it). Use the oil as the final step in your routine for an immediate glow or alongside a sculpting tool for frictionless facial massage.’

Read on to find out more about the key ingredients and their complexion-enhancing properties – and how to make the most of Soho Skin Face Oil as part of your skincare routine.

Ingredients spotlight

Squalane
Among one of the most effective oils for dryness, squalane is a biocompatible emollient, meaning it acts much like your skin’s natural oil production to prevent moisture loss. Lightweight and nourishing, the squalane used in Soho Skin Face Oil is derived from olives and is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores. By supporting the health of your skin barrier, it helps to leave your complexion soft and plump – even for sensitive skin types.

Enzymatically activated oils
Created by applying enzymatic treatment to a blend of almond, borage, linseed and olive oils (which encourages maximum release and extraction of proteins from within their cell walls), this nutrient-dense phyto-complex weightlessly reinforces skin barrier function. This, in turn, helps protect your face from environmental stressors, prevent irritation and maintain your skin’s natural processes.

White lupin seed extract
Sustainably sourced from western France, this naturally soothing botanical promotes your skin’s own collagen levels. The results? Greater elasticity – meaning a reduced appearance to fine lines – and a firmer, healthier finish.

Pomegranate seed oil
Rich in antioxidants – including brightening vitamin C – this extract helps smooth the appearance of fine lines and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation. It also contains punicic acid, an anti-inflammatory fatty acid that calms and protects skin.

Raspberry seed oil
As well as being moisturising, raspberry seed oil also helps to repair and nourish skin for a softer, smoother finish. Plus, it contains high levels of vitamin E, which work to protect your skin from the damage that environmental aggressors, including pollution, can cause.

Why do I need the Soho Skin Face Oil in my routine?
Many people are wary to use face oils over concerns that they may cause breakouts or clog pores. In fact, a lightweight face oil, such as Soho Skin’s non-comedogenic formula, primarily acts as an emollient, helping to soften and smooth the skin, as well as provide an immediate glow.

The oil is best applied as the final step in your skincare routine (e.g. on top of your Soho Skin Renewal Serum and Face Cream or Overnight Cream), which allows all that hydrating goodness from each product to really work its magic. If you’re using Soho Skin Face Oil as part of your morning routine, always remember to finish with SPF to protect skin against sun damage. (Something we recommend you do anyway.)

A face oil is also an effective aid for facial massage, either with a gua sha stone or your fingertips, by creating a little ‘slip’ over the skin. If that sounds up your street, join Dija Ayodele, aesthetician and author of Black Skin: The Definitive Skincare Guide, for a facial massage masterclass this September at Shoreditch House.

With autumn just around the corner, Ayodele will be on hand to answer questions about your seasonal skincare switch up, while also teaching members simple facial massage techniques to stimulate lymphatic drainage and leave skin looking brighter and more sculpted. Attendees will receive some Soho Skin goodies to take away with them, too.
