Earlier this month, as Lollapalooza arrived in the Windy City, Soho House Chicago became a hub of all things music. Enter Sohopalooza: five days of unforgettable live music performances, DJ sets and afterparties – plus some other surprises along the way. With the help of our members, we celebrated the city’s talent and community, as well as the vibrant spirit of Soho House.

Thursday 31 July
The day began with a wholesome element, as members joined us for sunrise yoga, complete with a soundtrack of deep house to really awaken the body and set the tone for the weekend ahead.

Later in the day, live music took centre stage in the House. Next, Australian artist Gordi performed on our Sohopalooza stage in the Drawing Room, bringing to the club a blend of haunting vocals, electronic sounds, and folk roots that made for an incredibly rich and emotive set.

As the evening progressed, breakout indie-pop artist Mark Ambor performed a heartfelt set that included hits like ‘Fever’ and ‘Colorful’, before guitar-pop duo Royel Otis got members up on their feet, dancing to upbeat, melodic tracks that fuse indie-pop, rock, new wave, and psychedelic influences with a nostalgic touch.

The night went out with a bang, thanks to a special Secret Soho Sounds performance. As they enjoyed a speciality cocktail by Patrón, guests were surprised as Magdalena Bay took to the stage for an unexpected DJ set, featuring a set of songs that landed somewhere between long relaxing days at the beach and sticky late-night dance floors.

Friday 1 August
What better way to spend a summer’s evening than lounging on the rooftop of Soho House Chicago, taking a dip in the pool as you enjoy a laid-back set by DJ JEV. Members joined us to do just that, as we hosted a pool party with La Roche-Posay, who were on hand to keep guests protected against the sun.

Bo Staloch kicked off proceedings with his soulful vocals, vivid storytelling and a sound that pays homage to folk, rock and country influences, while members and guests sipped Aperol Spritzes and took in the sunset.

As evening arrived, the music began with a genre-blurring set from DJ Gummy Bear, singer-songwriter Montell Fish’s playful, boundary-pushing musical persona. Next, Top Dawg Entertainment took over the House for a night spent with Isaiah Rashad and friends. Producer Kal Banx set the tone with his signature, forward-thinking beats, creating a backdrop for performances by R&B artists Isaiah Rashad and Zacari, as members enjoyed cocktails by Bacardí.

Saturday 2 August
As we welcomed the weekend, the Sohopalooza pool party returned – this time with the help of LaCroix, who kept guests hydrated with sparkling speciality cocktails. Later, we hosted a Sound Session, in partnership with De Soi from Midnight Generation. Blending nu-disco, funk and modern electro-pop, the group’s dance floor-ready sound got the party started.

The evening’s line-up continued the party vibes: Sam Austins performed his blend of alt-R&B and pop; Del Water Gap’s upbeat DJ set was brought to members by Recess; Almeda took to the stage with her catchy pop melodies and uplifting vibe; and Miss Milan delivered a DJ set packed with bold beats and smooth transitions.

Sunday 3 August
The final day of festivities kicked off bright and early, as members and their families arrived for the Sohopalooza Teeny House pool party. Grown-ups sipped Mimosas and coffee, while our younger members enjoyed a whole host of non-alcoholic drinks. Next came the Tween Rave with DJ Lucky Lucas, whose high-energy set got guests of all ages up and moving.

To see out the five-day celebration, we held a closing pool party. Guests were able to relax and unwind as they sipped on a menu of LaCroix’s sparkling cocktails, enjoyed sets from House DJs, and soaked up the afternoon sun.
