In commemoration of that historic day on 19 June, 1865, we asked Chuck Inglish, one half of the iconic hip-hop duo The Cool Kids, to curate a celebratory playlist that captures the hope and empowerment Juneteenth represents for Americans across the country. Speaking through what inspired the playlist’s track selection, Inglish explained, ‘Juneteenth is the acknowledgement and celebration of Black American culture. From its roots to now being honoured as a national holiday, it marks progress in real time.’
