Inside our Glastonbury Wind-Down at Babington House

As always, we welcomed festival-weary members for a day of live music, DJ sets, food pop-ups, and plenty of restorative sunshine

For many years, we’ve been helping members fight the post-festival blues with our Glastonbury Wind-Down event at Babington House. And this year was bigger and better than ever, as we opened our doors on Monday 30 June to festival attendees looking for a final day of live music, good food and great company as they made their way home from Worthy Farm.
On one of the hottest days of the year, members took to the grounds of our House in the Somerset countryside to enjoy a relaxing soundtrack provided by Soho House resident DJ Ross Wilson. Presenter Edith Bowman also took to the decks, and we were joined by The Libertines for a special live performance following their hugely successful return to the Pyramid stage over the weekend.

It wasn’t all about the music, though: members ate and drank well throughout the day, too. The star of the show was a menu of non-alcoholic drinks curated together with Three Spirit. There was also our ‘fizzy pink’ bar, where ice-cold rosé was flowing. There were also a number of food pop-ups to help members refuel, including a taco stand, an oyster shack and pizza truck, as well as the iconic Babington Barbecue, which was open all weekend.

For members seeking an opportunity to really recharge, we upped our wellness game with an area dedicated to all things relaxation. Out on the lawn, we built The Picante Pool, a float-filled swimming pool where guests could lounge or cool off with a quick dip. They also enjoyed a line-up of Pilates and yoga classes programmed throughout the weekend, as well as pop-up saunas from Blackdown Shepherd Huts. We know just how many miles festival attendees clock up across the five days, so on the lawn there were hot tubs to help soothe aching muscles, as well treatment rooms offering massages and other Cowshed treatments. Finally, there were IV drips by Body Brilliant on hand to cater to all kinds of member needs – from rehydration to energy boosters.

Our festival celebrations weren’t just reserved for Monday, though. In fact, throughout the weekend we hosted members for music, dining and entertainment – whether they were heading to Worthy Farm or not. We erected 50 bell tents in the grounds of the House, all fully equipped with comfy double beds, fluffy robes, Soho House essentials like Soho Skin products, and bottles of Three Spirit Nightcap to help members relax and unwind. We also screened festival highlights on the lawn, giving members that might have missed out on tickets the chance to channel the experience, without the crowds. On Saturday and Sunday, we were joined by chef Ana Ortiz, cofounder of Fire Made, who hosted a special pop-up dinner in the woodland area, preparing a menu of dishes cooked over an open fire.
Of course, there was also the whole of Babington House for members to explore, too: the 1705 Grade II-listed manor, 18 acres of English countryside, a lake, a cricket pitch, and tennis courts. Plus, guests could enjoy the best of Soho House dining at the Orangery, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and the Cowshed spa.
