Meet the members of Soho Farmhouse Ibiza

As we prepare to open our first House on the White Island, local creatives share what makes their community unique

The countdown is on until we open the doors of our very first Balearic House this July. Located in the rural village of Santa Gertrudis, far from the superclubs and tourist throngs, it’s a place known as the heart of real Ibiza – drawing local and international creatives who have come to call the White Isle home.
The Farmhouse – set within a working olive grove – has over nine acres to explore, from cosy lounges, a Library and a Snug, to laid-back outdoor dining, games areas, and open-air swimming pools. With 18 bedrooms and two villas, the space is also designed as the ideal escape to focus on your holistic wellbeing, with a Soho Health Club featuring a gym, yoga deck, sauna, steam room, and ice baths.
As we prepare to welcome locals and visitors alike, we meet some of the members who are ready and waiting to settle into the new Soho Farmhouse Ibiza.

Adrian Nagel, designer, craftsman and founder of Talta
‘I grew up in Ibiza, and like many of my peers, I left the island for university and to travel in my twenties. But we always knew we would be coming back. The balance here between working hard and enjoying life is really unique. In the creative community we work because we have to work, of course – but also because we’re doing what we love. There isn’t this money, money, money culture here.
‘You can still find the “real Ibiza” if you’re looking for it. Head to the north of the island, and you’ll discover beaches so quiet you can be the only person on them, even in the height of the summer.’

Ida Engberg, Swedish techno DJ and record producer
‘Music is the reason we moved with our family to Ibiza. I grew up in Stockholm and started playing vinyls for fun at the after-school club at the age of 13 and never stopped. Now, I live in the heart of Santa Gertrudis. It’s a vibrant, yet peaceful place to live that I love to come home to. The people make the island what it is: a messy, colourful, beautiful mix of creatives that you simply don’t find as highly concentrated in many other places. This is especially noticeable in winter, when the tourists leave – the island becomes green and quiet again, and you can reconnect with families and friends.
‘For anyone new to the island, I recommend Baron in Santa Gertrudis and Antonioli for shopping, and Cala Xuclar for swimming – it’s a very small, secret beach where you can swim naked and even in peak season rarely see anyone. The hikes are also incredible, especially around Cala d’Albarca.
‘As I live in Santa Gertrudis, it will be so special to have a go-to place so nearby. Somewhere to connect and disconnect. A bubble in the bubble. I’m sure so much magic will happen there. And I’m happy it’s on a farm surrounded by nature where people can come and unwind and get a fully authentic experience. I believe it will light up the winters even more.’

Christian Jochnick, CEO of Juntos Farm
‘As a creative entrepreneur and investor, I’m passionate about building communities through design, hospitality and wellness – just like Soho House. I think Soho Farmhouse Ibiza is a natural fit with the island; a space that supports creative exchange while respecting the island’s culture and pace.
‘Ibiza has a unique energy – a mix of nature, freedom, and creativity. It’s a place where you can truly slow down and stay inspired. The community here is so special, because it’s diverse, open and grounded. People come here to create, not compete, and there’s a strong spirit of collaboration.
‘My advice to anyone visiting the island is to take the island slowly. Let things unfold – that’s where the magic happens.’

Andrea Sanchez, founder of Estudio Laterna
‘I’m originally from the south of Chile, but in 2003 I started my landscape and garden design company Estudio Laterna here in Ibiza, together with my partner. I first came for a short project; I didn’t plan to stay. But the island caught me. It’s not just beautiful – it’s the light, the silence, the feeling of time moving in a different way. Ibiza keeps its own rhythm, even with so many people coming and going.
‘Much of the creative community here came looking for a different way of living and working. There’s a lot of exchange, and a lot of freedom too. You can experiment, you can make mistakes, and that’s part of the process. The community is mixed, international and local, and that brings something very special.
‘My advice for visitors is don’t try to do everything. Ibiza should not be about rushing. Take your time. Go for walks, speak with local people, eat slowly, watch the sky. The most special moments can often be very quiet.’

Mick Wilson, DJ and editor of DJ Mag Ibiza
‘I’ve been working in the music industry all my life, starting out as a DJ and producer at the beginning of the house music scene. Now I’m editor of DJ Mag Ibiza, a popular dance music culture title here on the island, and a partner in The Hub Ibiza Studios.
‘There’s a duality to Ibiza: the famed hedonism and the relaxed, tranquil moments. But what I truly love about it is the calming effect of being immersed in the natural environment of the island. Soho Farmhouse Ibiza feels like it’s arriving at just the right time, providing a space to take some time out, relax, and soak up the ambiance.
‘The creative community is so special, as it’s one of the core foundations the island was and is famed for. From an early time, forward-thinking free spirits came here as a place where they could meet and connect with like-minded people and share in their creative endeavours. This still holds true. It was a place for those who fitted outside the “standards” of what was considered normal society. We have wonderful colourful characters from all walks of life and from every demographic that brings something special to the island’s creative and local community.’

Awa Djabou Baidi, yoga instructor and founder of Awa Yoga
‘I’ve hiked the entire island along the coast and what you see in pictures isn’t even close to the reality of it. There’s such a strong energy, which people are drawn to – maybe in part because of that natural beauty. That’s led to a real multicultural community being found here, which I love. The people of Ibiza are curious and open minded; the creative community helps to make other people’s dreams happen.
‘Of course, everyone knows how magical the island is in the summer season, where you’ll find all sorts of people coming together to dance and share their cultures. But there’s so much to discover about Ibiza the rest of the year as well, when the island is quieter. Each season and each part of the island has a different vibe, even the colour of the land is different. It’s well worth exploring.’

Danny Whittle, founding partner of the International Music Summit
‘I’ve been an electronic music event organiser and promoter for 28 years, 14 of which I spent programming Pacha Ibiza. I co-founded the International Music Summit in 2007, and now I programme Chinois Ibiza.
‘Ibiza has it all: amazing parties, incredible wellness and community, beautiful nature and history. The people that make Ibiza their home are all very like-minded, which is why we tend to get on so well. We’ve been waiting for the opening of Soho Farmhouse Ibiza for so long – it will be a great fit for the island. We’re especially excited for the House’s cosy winter offerings
‘I always advise visitors to Ibiza to try and discover some of the hidden gems: simple local food and great bars. Plus, of course, nature – it’s the best place for hikes and swims.’
