Introducing Soho Desert House Palm Springs

Its calm, secluded mountain setting will offer the perfect place to relax, unwind, and reconnect – find out at our series of dining pop-ups later this year

When it comes to choosing the locations for our Houses, its physical position – whether city or country, beachside or desert – is more than coordinates on a map. Because it’s important to us that they reflect the culture and environment of their settings, the site goes a long way to influence the mood and design of the House and what it offers – as our forthcoming Soho Desert House Palm Springs demonstrates perfectly.

Positioned on the lower slopes of the San Jacinto Mountains in one of Palm Springs’ oldest and most celebrated neighbourhoods, attorney and art patron John Burnham began developing the seven-acre site in the late 1920s. The series of Spanish revival-style buildings he went on to create served as an artists’ retreat and colony for several decades, and continued to attract creatives from California and beyond until the 1970s. When Soho Desert House Palm Springs opens in 2027, that sense of its initial purpose as a haven – somewhere set away from the busy outside world that encourages a sense of feeling centred – will continue.
Soho Desert House Palm Springs will serve as a wellness escape for both local and visiting members. Led by the secluded natural beauty of its surroundings, it will be somewhere to unwind and focus on wellbeing. Alongside a large club space and bedrooms, the House will feature a state-of-the-art Soho Health Club specialising in holistic and advanced therapies. These include hyberbaric oxygen therapy, red light therapy, cryotherapy, cold plunges, infrared saunas, and more, as well as a juice bar.
And later this year, we’re offering members a chance to get an early sense of that for themselves, with a series of pop-up supper clubs where top guest chefs will take over our kitchens to give them a special culinary experience in the venue’s grounds. Previous chef takeovers have included Tomos Parry, Josh Katz, Akwasi Brenya-Mensa, and Nancy Silverton – so keep an eye out for updates and the opportunity to experience our desert hideaway before anyone else.
