In Through Her Eyes, actor-turned-director Vivica A Fox makes her directorial debut telling the story of psychology major, Jasmine Brooks, as she becomes overly invested in her case study, a local homeless woman who suffers from bipolar disorder. As Jasmine’s interest grows, so does her desperation to save the woman’s life. Above, writer Lola Adesioye interviews Fox about why the story needed to be told, the cultural significance of all-Black casts, and what she learnt behind the camera. Through Her Eyes premieres on 10 July at 10pm on BET Her.
