Inside our BFI London Film Festival celebrations

On Sunday 13 October, we welcomed members of the film and television world to Soho Mews House for a cocktail party co-hosted with the Golden Globes.

The event marked the success of the city’s annual film festival, and guests such as Succession star Jeremy Strong, Oscar® winner Adrien Brody and Avengers actor Sebastian Stan were treated to a selection of canapes that included Duck Parfait with aged parmesan, a Cep and Westcombe Cheddar Croquette, and a Courgette and Basil Galette.

Former Borat co-stars Sacha Baron Cohen and Maria Bakalova caught up over a cocktail or two, provided by our drinks partner for the event, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, who created a bespoke menu especially for the party. Highlights included Blue One, which featured a blend of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Mews vermouth, Campari Rosso and Absinthe, and Blue Three, with Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Riesling and camomile reduction, and bitters. 

Legendary director Denis Villeneuve – fresh off the box-office success of Dune: Part Two – was full of praise for the BFI London Film Festival, which sees some of the industry’s most exciting names arrive in the capital. ‘The festival has been really great this year,’ he said. ‘There’s been such a wide selection of films showing and it’s so well organised. It’s a really unique event.’
 
Other notable guests included Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ruth Wilson, Jesse Eisenberg, Celia Imrie, Stephen Merchant, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Asa Butterfield, Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, and Ben Hardy.
