The arrival of the 50th annual Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month saw the city flooded with a veritable who’s who of the industry. And at Soho House Toronto, we welcomed many of these tastemakers through our doors – not least for the sixth edition of CHANEL and Variety’s annual Women In Film dinner.
As well as marking the milestone year for TIFF, guests were, as ever, honouring the achievements of women across all aspects of the film industry – and celebrating the CHANEL Women Creators’ Network specifically. Established in 2020, the network is an extension of the Toronto International Film Festival’s annual Share Her Journey programme, which is part of the TIFF Writers’ Studio. It champions women in the arts and is committed to create opportunities for their artistic and professional development.
And celebrate we did. Notable attendees of the evening included Shailene Woodley, Little Simz, Édgar Ramirez, Diego Boneta, Natalia Reyes, Nina Hoss, Jessica Gunning, Mason Thames and Ethan Hawke. There was also Jessie Buckley, Emily Watson, Tom Bateman, Jeremy O Harris, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Gadon, Alice Winocour and Anyier Anei.
