What’s happening at Soho House Austin during SXSW®

Austin SXSW

From acoustic sets and to panel talks and more, our Texas outpost is the perfect place to be throughout this year’s festival

With SXSW® just around the corner, it’s time to start planning your trip for the annual event that sees Austin transformed into a global village for creatives and innovators. This year, the festival is drawing its three regular strands, across innovation, film and TV, and music, into a single seven-day timeframe, and hosting events at key points across the city.

At Soho House Austin – which is located just down the street from one of the central meeting points for this year’s outing, the Congress Avenue Block Party – we’re joining in the city-wide celebrations for festival week with an event-packed programme of conversations, live performances, dinners, parties, and more.

We’ll kick things off on Thursday 12 March with an Acoustic Sounds session featuring indie-pop band The All-American Rejects. Other highlights include our poolside Step Into The Blue event on Sunday 15 March, which sets out to bring our local House community together with visiting members and guests while sipping on Bombay Sapphire cocktails – and soundtracked by a DJ set from indie band Passion Pit.

On Monday 16 March, you can dance the night away at Casa Vibras, our celebration of Latinx culture and music, while enjoying specialty 400 Conejos Mezcal cocktails. Then, on Tuesday 17 March, Soho House Austin will be hosting a special edition of our pop-up dining experience, One Night Only. Presented in partnership with evian, the evening will be built around a specially curated menu by the founder and pit master of KG BBQ, Kareem El-Ghayesh – the self-styled ‘Egyptian cowboy’ whose Middle-Eastern twist to classic Texas barbecue has become an integral part of Austin’s dining scene.

Plus, keep an eye out for our handpicked line-up of artists who will be taking centre stage as part of several signature Soho House series, including Soho Unplugged with Johnnie Walker cocktails – a member favourite across our global clubs – and Secret Soho Sounds featuring Patrón cocktails and an unnamed performer whose identity isn’t revealed until the day. You won’t want to miss our festival week edition of Behind the Song either, which lets you in on the how, the where, and the why around the creation of a classic track from the singer-songwriter who made it, while you sip on an Ilegal Joven cocktail.

Across the week, the House will also play host to a variety of panel discussions and member activations. Topics this year include a deep dive into the untapped potential of Substack for all kinds of creators; a discussion about the intersection of culture, innovation, and influence; and a look at how Latin music has become one of the world’s most powerful cultural drivers today.

As if all that wasn’t enough, after seven thought-provoking and fun-packed days, on Wednesday 18 March we’ll round off the festival in a similar vein to how we started – with a special Acoustic Sounds set from singer-songwriter Zella Day.
