The Gilded Mischief by Giles Deacon at 40 Greek Street

Guilded Mischief Giles Deacon

Step inside the immersive installation featuring specially commissioned artworks and a Victorian-inspired menu, complete with bespoke Johnnie Walker cocktails

Friday 28 November 2025.          By Emma McCarthy

This season, Soho House 40 Greek Street has transformed into a theatrical Christmas fantasy under the creative direction of British fashion designer, illustrator and artist, Giles Deacon. The Gilded Mischief invites members into a world where Victorian opulence meets Deacon’s signature wit – a month-long celebration of craftsmanship, eccentricity, and immersive dining.

From now until Wednesday 31 December, the first floor of our House in the heart of Soho will be swathed in rich fabrics, with sculptural drapery and specially commissioned artworks. Playing with the codes of British decorative history – think elegant, regal and a little bit wild – even the staff uniforms have been redesigned by Deacon himself to complete the immersive experience.

The menu has been specially created by Nathanial Tofan, Executive Chef of Soho House, and takes inspiration from classic Victorian Christmas dishes. Indulge in a Native Lobster Cocktail to start, Goose Pie or Artichoke and Celeriac Pithivier as a main, and a classic Christmas pudding or Neal’s Yard cheese to finish. Meanwhile, you can enjoy an exclusive Johnnie Walker cocktail menu.

Last night, we hosted a private party to launch the project, which celebrates the intersection of art, fashion, interior design, and food. We welcomed an exclusive guest list including collaborators, Soho House members and some of Deacon’s close friends. Attendees included Eddie and Hannah Redmayne, Charles Spencer, Patsy Kensit, Gwendoline Christie, and Tim Blanks, who explored the theatrical installation over cocktails and candlelight.
