Here’s what you missed at SXSW
All the details from live performances with Japanese Breakfast and Sister Sledge to parties throughout the House

After a two-year hiatus, Austin’s primary festival, SXSW, has returned, with the newly opened Soho House Austin activated across every floor. Pool parties, performances and live music were front of show.
Weekend one kicked off in partnership with Apple Music. The cultural giant joined forces with the Soho House Austin community to shine a spotlight on the hottest emerging talent in music.
The live music-packed week kicked off with a sunset performance on the terrace and a Soho Presents on Tuesday with NYC-based collective, Club Intl, stopping by for an intimate show just for members after their official SXSW performance. The shows continued with emerging artist Col3trane bringing his unique blend of European style and American R&B sensibility to the stage. With a sound often compared to Frank Ocean, Col3trane’s performance of his latest single, ‘Bag’, brought guests to their feet.
Riding on a Grammy nominations high for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album, experimental pop band, Japanese Breakfast, hit the club floor on Saturday to perform a special SXSW DJ set. Among the crowd were Dash and the All Summa crew.
Other attendees included notable rappers, Bernard ‘Bun B’ Freeman and Gunna, music execs Nima Etminan and Moody Jones of Empire records, and music stars Phoebe Bridgers, Diplo, and Shawn Mendes. Filmmaker Ron Howard, actor Pedro Pascal, and entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian were also spotted.
On Sunday, the House closed out SXSW with a strong line-up. Starting off with everyone’s favourite brunch Feast, it remained packed with a Soho Presents performance by Sister Sledge. At a nighttime pool party with BMAJR, members swam, sang and sipped as they said goodbye to South by Southwest until 2023.
