Soho House Award winners to collect a Golden Picante

The inaugural Soho House Awards, in partnership with Sky, takes place this week. They will champion emerging talents in the creative industries and celebrate the pioneers that paved the way. And what better symbol to do that with than a gong inspired by Soho House’s signature cocktail? That’s right. On the night, our line-up of winners will each be presented with their very own Golden Picante. 
 
The award itself – created from 79% recycled aluminium – is designed as a gold replica of a Barwell cut-crystal rocks glass filled with the Patrón tequila cocktail and topped off with its accompanying chilli. A vision that has been brought to life by Soho House’s Editorial Creative Director, Andrew Diprose. 
 
‘I loved the idea of taking something iconic and reproducing it in resin,’ he says. ‘Something that makes you go “Woah, I thought that was real!’’. Getting the colour right was super tricky – how translucent do we make it look? Experimenting with it was like that is-it-blue-or-gold viral dress moment. But ultimately, I wanted to immortalise a classic Picante, and make it last forever – just don’t try to bite the chilli.’ 
 
The awards will celebrate winners across 10 categories – from music and art to acting and design; creators to changemakers. Each category will have two winners: one honouring an established name and one a breakthrough star, both of whom will be taking home the special award. 
 
All winners have been selected by a committee of Soho House experts across film, art, music, content and creative for their defining accomplishments and success in the past 12 months. 
 
That’s more than worth raising a glass to, right?
