Having joined the Soho House family in 2019, Scorpios was the first of its kind for our members. Based in Mykonos, a stone’s throw from Soho Roc House, the beach club was created as a holistic experience, designed to nourish all the senses, expand the mind, and unite creatives from around the world.

This summer, Scorpios is introducing a new cultural initiative called Encounters. Launching on Thursday 13 July, the series is a platform for experimentation, with Scorpios embracing a spirit of collaborative exchange and setting a stage for creative talent to chart new territory.

Curated in collaboration with the HOFA Gallery (House of Fine Art) and M. Stahl, the In Resonance two-day event will be the first in the Encounters programme, bringing together contemporary artists and musicians, engaging with the public through digital creations. You can expect installations, live performances, bespoke music compositions and exclusive opportunities to shop the art itself.

The series will begin with a showcase of exclusive artworks by new media artist, Refik Anadol. Considered a pioneer in the aesthetics of machine intelligence and digital art collectibles, his work has been displayed in museums across the world, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Venice Architecture Biennale and permanent public installations around the world, from Mumbai to San Francisco.

Anadol has co-created a series of digital artworks with the Yawanawá communities of Aldeia Sagrada and Nova Esperança, indigenous to Brazil’s Amazon rainforest. Using real-time data, a special computational architectural model reflects the essence of the Yawanawá culture of deep connection with the forest. The multi-sensory journey aims to immerse viewers in a visual rendition of one of Earth’s most vital ecosystems with the guidance of its custodians.

The series was commissioned by Impact One and is made up of a data sculpture, which will be exhibited at Scorpios. And a collection of 1,000 unique and dynamically evolving digital art pieces will be released and made available to purchase for a limited time only.

If you wish to attend the In Resonance event, it will run on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 July and is not ticketed.

All Soho House global members and Scorpios members will be able to access an exclusive pre-sale starting on Wednesday 21 June, where you will be able to shop Anadol’s works before they become available to the public.

Proceeds from sale of the artworks will go directly to the Yawanawá community. The funds will be used by the Yawanawá chiefs Nixiwaka, Putanny and Isku Kua to support long-term initiatives for the protection of its lands and cultural heritage.
