Live Rooms in February: The new-wave trailblazers to keep tabs on

Live Rooms: February | Soho House

From Priya Ahluwalia to Ivan Michael Blackstock, we meet some of the creative scene’s most exciting names this month

Tuesday 2 February 2022

It’s a bumper month for Live Rooms this February as fashion week returns to the capital. Over the next few weeks, and behind closed doors, some of the UK's most exciting fashion designers will be readying their collections for London’s catwalks. But, luckily for you, we’ve been granted access to all areas for our new hybrid physical and digital fashion series, Behind The Seams, which aims to unpick the newest collections through talks with the creative pioneers who created them.

We’ll be welcoming south Londoner and designer Bianca Saunders to 180 House on Wednesday 2 February. Known for redefining traditional sartorial codes and nodding to her dual British and Jamaican heritage, she has quickly become one to watch in the fashion space. As is West African designer, Foday Dumbuya, the founder of modern-day menswear brand, Labrum London, who we’ll be talking to on Tuesday 8 February. Last, but not least, we catch up with Priya Ahluwalia, the award-winning designer who weaves her mixed Nigerian-Indian heritage into the fabric of her eponymous menswear label. Make sure you tune into her exclusive livestream of the show on the SH.APP, which we’ll also be screening at Electric Cinema in Shoreditch.

Elsewhere this month, we’ve got coffee chats with Ivan Michael Blackstock (the man behind the choreography for Beyoncé’s hit song, ‘Brown Skin Girl’), comedy with 4YE, and we meet the makers of the Black Brown Berlin market in Amsterdam, which celebrates artists of colour from the local community.

Scroll down, book in, and get watching!
