Inside Soho Farmhouse Hudson Valley

We’re counting down to our first US Farmhouse opening in upstate New York – here’s what to expect and what happened when we invited members for an early glimpse

From its open landscape to its sprawling Golden Era estates, Hudson Valley’s appeal is well renowned. What better location, then, for our first Farmhouse outside Europe? The town of Rhinebeck, where Soho Farmhouse Hudson Valley is set to open, is just a one-hour, 40-minute train ride from Midtown Manhattan (or roughly a two-hour drive) – making it the ideal, easy-to-reach escape from the city.

With construction about to begin, we thought we’d give you a glimpse of what to expect from our new location. Like our original Farmhouse in Oxfordshire, England, and Soho Farmhouse Ibiza in Spain, our 250-acre site in the Hudson Valley is surrounded by natural landscape. A former working farm, it features a series of outbuildings anchored by a historic 19th-century manor house, all of which are to be restored and repurposed to serve different aspects of the Farmhouse.
These will include 45 bedrooms and cabins, alongside an expansive Soho Health Club and wellness offering with a fully equipped gym and studio, treatment and recovery rooms, and a spa. A converted barn will play host to the House’s main restaurant and bar, with additional food, drinks, and entertainment spaces across various outbuildings.

Immersed in nature, Soho Farmhouse Hudson Valley will also offer trails for hiking and biking in the nearby woodland, as well as a large outdoor pool with plenty of space for relaxing in the warmer months.

With construction about to begin, we offered a group of members and guests an opportunity to enjoy an exclusive look at what we have planned with a special Long Lunch in the Farmhouse grounds – travelling out together on the train from Penn Station in the morning and returning later that same day. Guests enjoyed a hard-hat tour, before settling in for a family-style lunch featuring a series of dishes focused on locally sourced ingredients in a nod to Hudson Valley’s thriving farm-to-table culinary scene.
We’ll be updating you on how things are going as the build progresses, so keep an eye out for further news and your calendars primed for details of the opening.
